You can't just jump in. Too much of the dramatic effect depends upon how the show builds upon previous episodes (hours). Wait for the DVD, man.

""when it was mountain lion vs. Kim? I was pro-mountain lion.""

Same here, that's why I skipped the next season.

I too never miss 24. TIVO for safe keeping. But "dispensing with political correctness" ... NOT. 24 like all other current forms of media displays total contempt towards white males. Every character on this and most other prime time drama puts females and non-white males in roles of power, principle and character almost to the total exclusion of white males. Always in positions to instruct and mentor the whining, weak, knuckle dragging bigots who've put us in this horrible state in the first place.

Even the almighty Jack has lost his love interest this series because she can't handle his serious character flaws. Mommy's boy Edgar finally had to lisp over the open channel that Chloe was by far the best analyst at CTU and her humble and powerful response "I know".

The coup d' gras though was the ending of last week's episode. Tune in tonight to see how it turns out. I bet you can't guess.

Let's take a poll?

What will happen in the last episode?

I believe Marwan will succeed and the nuke will go off leveling an American city.

This will be Sutherland's way of saying wake up to the 9/10 mentality of the Rats.

"Monday night at my house is "all phones are turned off" night, and it's been like that for three years now. When each '24' episode is over the first thing that occurs to me is that it's 6 days and 23 hours before the next episode. "

Yepper, that about nails it!

And yeah, Chloe was a total surprise to me, she done good.

*SPOILER*

I was biased against season 3 from the beginning--same with season 4. I couldn't believe he let the blonde from season 2 slip away. I was expecting them to be married in season 3. What a fool he is! Yes, she was probably a liberal, but she was dependable and courageous. I was just really partial to her. I still haven't gotten over it.

"It has corporate interests in bed with Muslim terrorists"

Has happened. In the mid 1980's some German executives were arrested in a conspiracy to sell enriched fissile material and centrifuges to the Syrians.

The "suspension of belief" idea hit home for me the night Air Force 1 went down, and after stealing the pages from the red section of the football, Marwan, driving a jeep, managed to get away from a helicopter in the open desert. Yeeaaahhhh, riiiiiggggghhhhht. :)

Chloe and Edgar's snippy comments to each other seem hard to believe also, given the gravity of the situation, but I'm kinda hot for Chloe, so it's all good on that note. :)

It also seems that no matter how many CTU guys are on the scene, no matter how much electronic surveillance they have going and no matter how well prepared they think they are, Marwan always manages to slip away.

I love to hate Marwan though. He (Arnold Vosloo) is the same actor I loved to hate in the "Mummy" movies.

But, even though it has it's moments that just about make you scream with frustration or laugh in disbelief, it's a great show. My favorite scene? Jack Bauer breaking that one feller's fingers to get information out of him, just as the guy's smug, bald ACLU lawyer is pulling away thinking he did a great job for his client. HehHeh. Schadenfreude!

Yeah, realism -- sure. This guy never sleeps, and an entire year of events happens in one day. Apparently the security of the entire country rests on the shoulders of one guy... yep, that's realism!

Not to mention that he can drive from anywhere in greater LA to anywhere else in about ten minutes. i know some folks who'd love to be able to pull that off.

I'm a fan, but I also wonder about his cell battery and when does the guy take a leak?

Didn't you wonder why he always wears dark slacks?

Is that the reason Hillary Clinton always wears black pantsuits?

He has three nukes not just the one in Iowa, Marwan may escape this season but will be back just like Nina was,TBKL, to be killed later, by Jack, bomb goes off and martial law imposed, now in the next season Jack is gonna have to put up with vigilantes hampering him in his quest for Marwan, Lets not forget we get to visit the chinese this evening so that may be a factor next season as well and while we are at it lets throw in a couple of North Koreans, what a show.

Well that's gotta be Tony. He's hopeless.

Also the black guy as he's the only other 'star'.
