It seems that Krugman is so obsessed by the notion of living in a world of depression, disappointment and diminished expectations that he should commence immediately to disassociate himself from the New York Times and the mainstream media, and the world will be an immensely more cheerful, sensible and hopeful place. That seems to be the common personality disorder of readers and writers of the New York Times and mainstream media. They need to find more healthful outlets for their neurotic obsessions.
