With millions missing, another federal probe targets Abramoff. WASHINGTON - It was a gangland-style hit straight out of "Goodfellas."
A man in a BMW was driving down a quiet side street after an evening meeting at his Fort Lauderdale office when a car slowed to a stop in front of him. A second car boxed the BMW in from behind, then a dark Mustang appeared from the opposite direction. The Mustang's driver pulled alongside and pumped three hollow-point bullets into the BMW driver's chest.
The dead man was Konstantinos "Gus" Boulis, a volatile 51-year-old self-made millionaire, a Greek immigrant who had started as a dishwasher in Canada and ended up in Florida, where he built an empire of restaurants, hotels and cruise ships used for offshore casino gambling. Boulis's slaying, still unsolved four years later, reverberated all the way to Washington. I'm to the point in the made-by-media DeLay "scandal" that when I hear or see his name, it activates the Halliburton, Abu Ghraib, No WMDs and Bush/Texas Air National Guard area of my brain and I tune it out. When and if they charge him (which they won't) with a crime, I'll pay attention. Until then it's the DNC media and their usual dirty tricks.
Read the article. I'm sure there are plenty like him associated with the Dems - but you won't hear that from the Wash Post or the MSM.
Further, Delay is being smeared. He is name is all over the article BUT there is no evidence he knew of Abramoff's shady dealings or did anything wrong.
Fed Ex Skyboxes, Private jets, VIP Parties, influence buying masquerading as tortured campaign contributions and 'Donations' to non-profits for eventual funneling to lawmakers for their personal use, so-called 'Fact finding' trips that include spouses and aides that are replete with liberal sightseeing and entertainment benefits, and on and on and on to the point of sheer ridiculousness.
My other problem is the acceptance these obviously corrupt practices have received from the public. I keep listening for cries of outrage and all I ever hear are excuses and howls of partisanship. Let's face it, the entire system is on the take in one form or another, it isn't a partisan thing and so many are involved/recipients of this graft that nothing will be done about it.
The only time it arouses some ire is when the MSM grabs onto a Rep. who has a problem but, from what I see, ALL Pols are involved and the MSM is simply selective and biased in it's disclosures, a fact that is no surprise.
