My wife is livid. Especially after she heard they were not going to prosecute.

Given the wedding and reception plans, I figure her parents are quite well-to-do. That may have played a role in the prosecuter's decision.

We had a similar incident happen not far from here last year. But she was ordered to pay restitution.
