Shortly before the plane touched down at 9 p.m. in Atlanta, a flight attendant handed out a written statement from the Wilbanks family to the media that said: "She has spoken to her fiance. He cannot wait to see her. She says the wedding is not called off, just postponed."

LOL!!!!great !
Why? What the hell did he do in a past life to deserve this fate?
What did I say? "The Graduate."
Of course, "The Graduate" had a hopeless ending too.
But at least I would not expect her to drown her kids in 5 years.
yes. 3 or 4 women like that call Dr Lauras show every day. Best illustrated by a spot that a conservative talk radio station around here plays--a shot at the other conservative station who runs Dr. Laura....
(whiney voice) "Dr Laura... my boyfriend slept with my best friend and spent all my money. Should we still get married?"
this little olive oyl is the ugly duckling and inadequate personality of her family......she has accomplished exactly nothing in her life except running. Whatever reason she was attractive to the hubby-to-be is rooted in his own psychological pathology. Just wait a few days until the press looks into their respective pasts among people who are not family or whatever.
this "disaster" was inevitable, since they were a match, opposites or not.
Hey, does anyone thi nk they were both in on this? He sure was calm about it.
I have had more fun with this than anything in years. At least we aren't insulting each other and calling each other names. Lately FR has been awful. But this, well, this has been fun.
These two kids deserve each other, they are meant for each other. He is so dumb he doesn't know she is nutty as a fruitcake. They will be very happy.
Hmmmm, maybe they both orchestrated the whole thing in the hope of getting $$$ for selling the movie rights.
Heck, look at all of the women in this country who send marriage proposals to famous male prisoners!!
He should consider himself lucky he got to see this side of her before the marriage. Im sure he is just saying that the wedding is postponed out of respect for his and her family, but as soon as the media spotlight is off him he better run like hell. She is crazy! And if he decides to tie the knot with this lunatic, then he should admit himself to the funny farm.

so much for the "Everything stays in Las Vegas" slogan.
You are a hopeless romantic.
Maybe it is the way you see it.
I would prefer if these two did not breed.
Please, no dumb, panicky, Japanese-anime-eyed children for these two...
Hey, don't forget about that possible book deal coming up in the future from either Simon and Schuster or Harper-Collins.
"Personally, I think it would be better for this guy to marry her than anyone else. I think I'd have been able to figure out before now that she was an airhead..."
Presuming, as you say, that Mason has figured out Wilbanks is an airhead, how then is "it better for this guy to marry her than anyone else"? You may be Brilliant, but I do not follow this logic since it makes no sense to me. Care to explain?
You are correct that she has rejected him. Very, very publically rejected him. Sounds like these two are co-dependent plus he may be PW (whipped).
Maybe she gambled away the "nestegg" like Julie Hagerty in "Lost in America."
So the cops pull over a blue van driven by a Hispanic man, thinking he's their guy. They "know" he's armed and dangerous. He comes barging out of the van (he doesn't know he's armed and dangerous) and is shot and killed.
Oops, sorry, says $hit-for brains?
I agree. She pays for all the wasted time and does some weekends behind bars. If she can afford a wedding with 14 bridesmaids and 14 groomsmen and a reception for 600 at the swank Atlanta Athletic Club, she can forgo that, give that money instead to the agencies that looked for her, and have a small backyard wedding.
