Shortly before the plane touched down at 9 p.m. in Atlanta, a flight attendant handed out a written statement from the Wilbanks family to the media that said: "She has spoken to her fiance. He cannot wait to see her. She says the wedding is not called off, just postponed."

Oh, it has always been like this. I am not the romantic here,,all you cynics expecting perfection in people and marriage are.

I am the realist. This airhead needs a groom. Her Momma wants her married. Her father will have a heart attack if she doesn't get off his dole. The groom is dumb and well to do. She has filled out her registry and has gifts, caterers and 14 Bridesmaids.

This wedding needs to happen. And I prefer to think, we should all think, that they love each other. I think they do, to their ability. Good enough for me, her parents and her bridesmaids.

"Mr. Mason run for your life."

Hey, maybe he wants a 6-year-old bride. If he goes through with this, that's exactly what he'll get -- a pampered, immature, deceitful, self-centered brat.

Bad girls are good to fine. But, they don't make very good wives.

She may be southern, but she's no young girl. She's 32 years old, and in the 50's she would have been called a
"spinster". I know people are marrying later now, but she doesn't qualify as a young girl, and she is (or should be) accountable for her actions. If he marries her, he deserves what he gets because she has shown the world she is a flake and not honest. I don't believe this was a spur of the moment act on her part.

I work in Duluth, and always just considered it a suburban extension of big-city Atlanta. Didn't know it was a hillbilly version of Peyton Place.

I don't expect perfection. However marriage works when sane people attempt it at least 50% of the time.

I think her Momma and aunt engineered the whole thing from the get-go. The way they met was that her aunt, who worked for the Mason family, saw a photo of John in some marathon or other...mentioned her niece, the marathoner...gave Jennifer's phone # to him...and he took the bait.

Jenn's Momma, despite two marriages, has not yet "arrived" in Georgia society. She wanted to make sure her dingbat daughter married into the upper echelons.

Momma got just what she deserved this week.

"Mr. Mason could use this "embarrassment" to his advantage and get a hotter chick to marry."

Yeh..and his stock just skyrocketed on the chick-o-meter magnet scale. He wont have to settle for 'Sybil' any longer.

"If he marries her, he deserves what he gets because she has shown the world she is a flake and not honest."

I agree with you. He has a chance now to show he has more sense than this woman does. If he doesn't take the opportunity to not walk away from her, then he does indeed deserve what he'll get. But the real tragedy will occur if and when these two decide to procreate. If they have kids, then that's who I will feel sorry for. They will be the true victims of some messed up people.

Am I the only one who thought she looked like a deer caught in the headlights from the time this story - and her pics - broke?

Perhaps also a deer caughtr in the headlines.

Maybe, since they went to all that trouble over the preparations for the wedding, they should go through with it...but the groom should follow Teresa Heinz's advice and get a pre-nup.

"When's [Sean] Hannity going to come down to see me?" he asked before gushing when a producer told him soon. "Oh man, that'd be awesome."

Okay, he's certifiably insane, too. Lock 'em both up.
