Ping!
I wish I had known that the peacenik would bring his "Christ's peace" sign. I would have been prepared and gone over to talk to him.
Who does NOT want peace? Who really WANTS war? I guess it all depends on how you define those terms.
Peace is not merely "the absence of war," as many peaceniks seem to think. If it were, then Iraq under Saddam Hussein was peaceful. I doubt that Jesus--or Iraqi citizens who were thrown off buildings or into plastic shredders--would agree with that definition.
Jesus also said, "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword." (Matt.10:34) I wonder what the peaceniks would do with that?!
Christ's peace = salvation
True biblical peace is available to everyone, and has nothing to do with the absence or presence of war. In fact, biblical peace is available to anyone regardless of outward circumstances--even in the middle of war! I wonder how the peaceniks explain that.
ON BEHALF OF FREEPERS EVERYWHERE, THANK YOU TROOPS AND MILITARY FAMILIES FOR THE SACRIFICES YOU MAKE EVERY DAY SO THAT WE CAN ENJOY OUR FREEDOM. WE APPRECIATE IT MORE THAN WE CAN EXPRESS!
Thanks again you all. Thanks to the veterans, past and present and their families for keeping me and my family safe.
Really enjoyed being out there with you all this morning. It was great weather, and even better company.
