This is unbelievable. Is she going to pay back all the money to tax payors for her "cold feet". ?
There must be more to this story...hmm....and how did she get to Albequerqe?
I think the fiance should call off the wedding....if this is his future, he better run!
Explains a lot.
Good golly! Thank God she's alive, but what a rotten thing to do!
What a rotten inconsiderate BRAT. I thought from when her dad talked she sounded a bit flaky--too babied. I hope she gets nailed with the costs for the search operation. You'd think she would have noticed the young woman in Wisconsin who attempted to do something similar and got arrested for the false report.
What's with people these days? The girl at school can't talk to her parents so she writes a letter making up a crime. This lady has no clue what she put her family through. Selfish people... she should do so jail time.
I'll be honest, I suspected this the moment I found out the size of the wedding. Turns out she bought the bus ticket last week, so it was premeditated.
This time it's personal
Did the MILs from hell take over the wedding plans?
"and how did she get to Albequerqe?"
Greyhound bus
Just a very seriously disturbed woman (32yo).
Her fiancee dodged a bullet, unless he has other issues and proceeds with the wedding.
Nothing will happen to her. Katie Couric will interview her and will sympathize with the "pressures of being a woman." She will be a hero of the whining, feminist establishment within days. And of course, it will come out that her "brain dead" fiance didn't notice the signs of her breakdown because he's just another evil man, who probably plays golf on Saturdays with his drunk friends and went to a strip club for his bachelor party. He will be forced to apologize on national TV for his awful lifestyle.
Well I'm tired of this story already but I'm sure the media can squeeze at least two or three more days out of it.
"Turns out she bought the bus ticket last week,"
Hmmm.....I hadn't heard that.
Years ago, my son's school bus (preschool) had a large rock thrown at it from an overpass. Thank God no one was hurt, just windows broken and a scare. Every paramedic nearby was called, because according the procedure children have priority.
A few miles away a man died from an accident. They couldn't get an ambulance. They were all on the school bus call.
My point is, how many people suffered from all the diversion of resources on this case? This woman should be prosecuted. She is no child.

ALBUQUERQUE A Georgia bride-to-be who vanished just days before her wedding turned up in New Mexico and fabricated a tale of abduction before admitting Saturday that she had gotten cold feet and "needed some time alone," police said.
Jennifer Wilbanks (search), 32, was in police custody more than 1,420 miles from her home on what was supposed to be her wedding day.
"It turns out that Miss Wilbanks basically felt the pressure of this large wedding and could not handle it," said Randy Belcher, the police chief in Duluth, Ga., the Atlanta suburb where Wilbanks lives with her fiance. He said there would be no criminal charges.
Wilbanks, whose disappearance set off a nationwide hunt, called her fiance, John Mason, from a pay phone late Friday and told him that she had been kidnapped while jogging three days before, authorities said. Her family rejoiced that she was safe, telling reporters that the media coverage apparently got to the kidnappers.
But Wilbanks soon recanted, according to police.
Ray Schultz, chief of police in Albuquerque, said Wilbanks "had become scared and concerned about her impending marriage and decided she needed some time alone." He said she traveled to Las Vegas by bus before going to Albuquerque.
From Fox News: She had 8 wedding showers in the last two weeks!
