A Georgia bride-to-be who vanished just days before her wedding turned up in New Mexico and fabricated a tale of abduction before admitting Saturday that she got cold feet and "needed some time alone," police said.

Jennifer Wilbanks, 32, had called her fiance from a pay phone late Friday and told him that she was kidnapped three days earlier while she was jogging, authorities said. But she soon recanted, according to police.

And for goodness sakes, at least go to a nice spa, not a bus trip to NM!

Maybe she was looking for The 7 cities of cibola where legend had it that they were full of gold.

Geraldo and others in the media owe her fiance an apology. They were all ready to compare him to Scott Peterson.

I agree 100%! I loved how the media was making a huge deal out of her fiance wanting the GBIs polygraph test of him videotaped....like it was an unreasonable request. I'd request the same thing had I been in his position.

She should be charged with something for what she did. But Daddy knows people in high places so I'm sure she's going to get off scot-free!

"She looks like Nancy Pellosi's understudy"

Lets see now, Jennifer is....

A ditz, narcissis, daddys over grown over indulged brat, bugged eyed, tanning salon lizard, drama queen, attention needy, materialistic wet blanket.

ie., Stepford wife candidate gone haywire!

"My wife thinks he should call off the wedding. She thinks that fabricating a kidnapping, scaring her family & friends, wasting police resources, and humiliating her fiance before the entire nation, is a "red flag".

Just one red flag? More like a truck load of red flags.

Think weather.

Every time there is snow, the MSM reporters and reporterettes find a story as far south as possible.

This is why december and january are heavy florida story months.

seriously, I think this chick might have Graves disease. The bugged out eyes and irrational manic behavior like running away are common with that.

from postgradmed.com

The many faces of Graves Disease:

The presence of ophthalmopathy, defined as exophthalmos or diplopia with dysconjugate gaze, in a thyrotoxic patient firmly establishes Graves' disease as the cause of hyperthyroidism. However, only about 5% of patients with Graves' disease have obvious ophthalmopathy when first seen, and eye signs may not be recognized for months or years after disease onset or treatment. Hence, while the presence of ophthalmopathy confirms the presence of Graves' disease, an absence of eye signs does not exclude Graves' disease from diagnostic consideration

She, maybe not with malice, sat back and watched all her friends, family, neighbors and strangers search for her and watched her Mom cry and get berated by reporters.

Not to mention watched the press get ready to turn her fiancee into Scott Peterson for having half a brain with the way he dealt with the police department. Who in their right mind takes a lie detector without using a lawyer advice in a possible capital murder case where you are the PRIME suspect? A bunch of dumb-ass freepers would but anyone with half a brain does not deal with the cops in that situation.

Gee, I don't know about the south but where I come from they call chicks like her royal beautimus a pr--k tease.
She's getting off on all this drama she's created. Must be her crowning achievement. Poor thing, it's all down hill from here. There's no way she'll be able to top this stunt unless she signs up for the next Celebrity Boxing match.

I am wondering if she suffers from either Graves Disease or hyperthyroidism. My daughter has Graves Disease. It is a disease that manifests itself with a goiter and eyes that bug out when in a state of hyperthyroidism. That is how she was diagnosed. She also was very thin. Then, when she has an imbalance, she can swing towards hypothyroidism. She has terrible mood swings, especially in the hyperthyroidism stage and has anxiety attacks. Medication, however, keeps all of that under control.

That could explain her appearance and her erratic behavior when placed under such extreme pressure. I think I would want to run and hide if I had to plan and go through with this type of elaborate wedding.

I'm thinking she has a turbo-charged thyroid, to say the least.

That might be swell during courtship, but marriage - no.

Oops! Should have read all the posts first. Thyroid problems I concur with you!

Please describe the medication, as I work with a thin young woman who hasn't suffered Grave's or goiter yet, but is always complaining that it is too cold when its not, and her hands are ice-cold to the touch!

That doesn't necessarily mean she has Graves just poor blood circulation to hands and feet.
