ABU DHABI, APRIL 29: Air-India (A-I) has sought legal opinion to file a suit against Airbus for its outburst against the former’s decision to award a contract to Boeing for the purchase of 50 aircraft for an investment of Rs 30,000 crore.

A-I has taken strong objection to Airbus’ complaint that the A-I board cleared the Boeing deal without referring it to the Comptroller & Auditor General of India and Chief Vigilance Commissioner.

A-I may file a defamation suit against Airbus for questioning its wisdom, expertise and knowledge for the selection of an aircraft supplier, according to observers tracking these developments.

“A-I has already taken strong objection to Airbus’ complaint and has sent out a letter in this regard to GoI seeking its nod for going ahead on this front. The A-I board, which cleared the Boeing deal last week, has already taken a decision that it would be sent to the Comptroller and Auditor General and Chief Vigilance Commissioner,” said said A-I CMD V Thulasidas.

Airbus really shot itself in the foot nicely on this whole fiasco. Good.

Be wary of doing business with these guys.

Airbus must think insulting the customers is going to help sales.

If anything this "feud" would only damage ALL airbus sales.

Why do I get this urge to shave the landing gear of the A-380?
Gotta check my meds.

Sounds like Airbus is chasing its own tail, so to speak.

A-I has taken strong objection to Airbus’ complaint that the A-I board cleared the Boeing deal without referring it to the Comptroller & Auditor General of India and Chief Vigilance Commissioner.

If Airbus finds that disparaging their potential customers doesn't increase sales, they might next try suing them. That would be sure to increase sales.

Go get em, AI. Airbus is planning on filing suit against AI for not considering the A380. Turnabout is fair play.

I think Airbus is rapidly finding out that their widebody jets aren't as popular as they once were. With the arrival for the more fuel-efficient and technologically-advanced 787 and the longer-range versions of the 777, that has pretty much dried up a lot of potential sales of A330 and A340 planes. The A350 proposal from Airbus hasn't impressed that many airlines, who feel the A350 is essentially an A330 with a new tail, wings and engines, which while more efficient than the A330 still doesn't offer the type of efficiency the 787 offers.

It appears that Airbus' marketing efforts would be better spent on their A320 Family airliners, which are competitive against the current Boeing 737 models.

Airbus' spending $16 billion on the A380 will get them one thing: the largest commercial airlines. Profits? Forget about them. This will be Concorde II. Interesting plane, very few produced, never profitable.

Hmmm, perhaps France needs a Chief Vigilance Commissioner.

Exactly...Airbus's future is shakin' out.

A380 sales units needed to break even increasing...

News of more Boeing 787 (7E7) sales...

socialism does not need profits, just print more currency. The function of Airbus is to create jobs.

Airbus will keep going because they will keep two sets of "accounting books".

I did not say Airbus would cease to exist, just that the A380 would be a horrible business decision for them.

Yes..... just like if Burger King were to sue it's costumers for buying their hamburgers from McDonalds.
That is very typical of a liberal/democrat mindset and attitude.
