If the people of Quebec ever voted to secede, the first thing the secessionist leaders would do is demand a recount.
As a nation separate from the rest of Canada, Quebec's prospects for long-term viability are damn near zero.

You are exactly right Quebec would fall apart at the seams if they were to separate it is only their foolish pride that allows them the false belief that they will prosper.
You would be an immediate exit of thousands of people and business.
They would also be have to supply themselves with a money supply of their own and passport system because Canadians would not allow them to take ours with them.

It'd be nice if Quebec separates. Canadians would do better without their taxes going to Quebec.
