"These manifestations prejudice historical economic, social and cultural ties between Mexico and California,"

Good work, Arnold! Great going, Gov! Woo-hoo!

His opponent, Luis Ernesto Derbez, the Mexican foreign minister and Washington's favored candidate, withdrew Friday afternoon

I heard about this on the news yesterday, but not about the machinations from Washington, D.C. Secty Rice was only doing the bidding of our President, of course.

It means that someone is posting just to bring this topic to "the top of the heap," (the main forum board)so to speak and hopefully gain the attention of more readers and posters.

Okay. This was my first try at posting something here so I don't know some of the rules (that I don't want to break).

If I remember correctly, an employer CANNOT ask an alien illegal or otherwise to prove he/she is in the US legally.

Well, I work at a car dealership in SoCal and let me tell you that before I got hired, I had to do drug test, proof of legal residence and work, background check, credit check, criminal record check, physical check and driver's license check.

Everything has to be in good standing order otherwise "YOU" as a future employee are not "INSURABLE". In principle Employers Liability Insurance dictates who is employable or not.

BTW the Dealership I work for is not a big Corporation but a privately owned outfit.
