The MSM is going to be confused because GWBush spoke LIKE A HUMAN BEING!

And...because GWB is a LEADER.

GWB just reminded us why we are all grateful he prevailed in 2004!

Wow, who would have ever thought the elitist reporters would ask so many questions about illegal immigration and 145 House Democrats voting against making it illegal to take 14 year olds across state lines to obtain abortions.

I thought his explanation about how a spouse dies and his money in SS "just goes away" was quite good, and is exactly right.

I also thought linking the Korean nuclear threat to the missile defense program was quite good.

That was a homerun folks. You can tell by the sad looks on the MS Press. If they report on what he actually said the mood of the entire country will improve dramatically! They got the horns tonight.

The cheap shot was something about "rich people like Dick Cheney". Can't remember exactly but that was the gist of it.

Had [HWMNBN] been confronted with a critical, partisan question like President Bush, he would have gone ballistic....

Hmm, that's a good point, fair point. He'd've gotten red in the face and shaken his finger. (We guess! Because it almost never happened!)

You know, honestly... no. I don't think he's doing that great. He either lets himself be put on the defensive, gets apologetic, or avoids the question too much.

The one I feel most keenly is the one I knew most about, the vile David Gregory one. W bobbled that. There were 100 tactfully aggressive ways he could have responded. Instead he said, "No, I disagree with Frist and the FRC. It's not about their faith. It's just [blah blah blah, wander meander stray]."

I'd have loved it, of course, if he'd said "Duh! Next question!"

But he also could have said, "Well David, when a senator says in so many words that it is a candidate's 'deeply held religious views' that give him pause, I can certainly see why people say that." I can think of a dozen other tactful responses without breaking a sweat. Can't you?

And (as I've said often before, discussing the debates) HE HAD TO KNOW THIS WAS COMING.

We've heard all of these questions before. The press is so lame. They avoid the hot issues people care about-immigration, trade, taxes. Avoid anything timely. Only moan and cry about their own pet peeves and complaints.

Another wasted hour of life.

Well said. I agree 100%.

And I do know how press conferences operate, and neither the press nor the president are going about it right. I consider Mr. Bush a decent enough man, but my word, he needs to take the bull by the horns and bring these subjects up rather than waiting for the press to ask, which they never will.

LOL. Now get back to ignoring me. Please.

OK, everyone knows I despise the MSM, but Tim Russert really, really just ticked me off.

Predicting how Dims will react to the president's acknowledging that future benefits will be lower under his plan, Tim said, "...that's as compared to what people can expect if we stay with the current system".

Acccckkkkk! I KNOW for a fact that Tim knows those benefits promised today cannot be paid. What is it going to take to get these bozos to tell the truth?!!!
