As stated previously, "close" has nothing to do with how close the jet is. Never did. . .ever.And thus my comment on the B-2 and F-16 as not being built for that purpose. They never were...ever.

The context of the remarks in post 118 were confusing and led me to think that the B-2 and F-16 were somehow not CAS. . .it was the question marks and the plumber remark that did me in.

Oh. . .and to be clear. . .the munitions make most platforms capable of performing CAS. Doesn't matter what the aircraft is; B-52, B-2 or F-16. . .they all have preformed or can perform CAS---and do it exceptionally well. it's all in the targeting and munition and command and control.
