President Bush was attending his second Republican fundraiser this year, a private affair to collect cash for the National Republican Senatorial Committee, a group working to expand the GOP's majority in the Senate.
Bush made an appearance Wednesday night at a committee reception at Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist's home. The event was expected to raise at least $3.5 million, according to the committee.
The committee, led by Sen. Elizabeth Dole, R-N.C., raises funds and recruits Republican candidates for the 2006 Senate races. In the 2004 election, the GOP expanded its Senate majority by four seats.
The NRSC raised about $75 million in the 2003-04 election cycle, about $11 million less than the total collected by its Democratic counterpart. This year, the committee's fundraising is being led by Frist of Tennessee and Majority Whip Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.

I've given a lot of money to various GOP organizations in the past, but that is on hold for now. Until I see some guts, I will not send a penny.
Well I am glad he is getting from his rich buddies, because he isn't getting any $$$$ from us red-state flyover country bumpkins until there is positive resolution of the judicial nominees problem, and even Bolton...add Delay....
THEN, maybe I will send in my RNC dues!
GWB take Frist off to the side and tell him to grow a pair.
All I know is, Bush probably isn't very happy about the House vote tonight because I am sure he will get lots of questions about the dems caving because they know that the dems were right, blah, blah, blah....
I am kinda glad that Frist is gonna not try to get re-elected, so he can run for POTUS---that way maybe Mitch McConnell can become Majority leader---HE knows how to smack down the dems!
Here's my list:
Judicial nominees
Bolton
DeLay
IMMIGRATION
And .. each time they call - that's what I tell them. Evidently, there are a lot of us who have drawn a line in the sand. I'd still vote repub - because I couldn't bear to vote for a criminal enterprise like the dems - but it would only be because I would never NOT VOTE.
Well, from what I read on the other thread, his press conference is mainly to get out to all of America and use his "bully pulpit" (like the dems accuse him of all of the time) to talk about Social Security---so you better put that on your list---
Also, the reporters will probably ask about Duelfer's final report---take one more shot at Bush about no WMDS...
