It looks like we have 2 sets of justice. One for Americans and one for illegals. This country is going to have to come to grips with some of this soon.
I am like you, I don't have a clue about what Bush is doing. I do know what he is not doing and that is his job.

it makes absolutely NO sense for them to neglect the borders...NONE!"
Yes it does.
When Americans are no longer a majority in the U.S.
When Americans are more worried about how to feed their kids.
America will lose her sovereignity and become a STATE of the world government.

You left "bed bugs" off of your list of what "illegal immigrants" produce.

There needs to be an incremental policy. 2nd strike should be a year. 3rd strike should be 10 years.

You said a mouth full. Americans are given extremely harsh sentences.
This illegal was caught 17 times. No doubt, this is a smuggler. It burns me that we don't have much harsher sentences for smugglers or human traffickers. They get the book thrown at them when someone gets killed but until then, they get a slap on the wrist. The whole thing stinks of payoffs and a US government operating against Americans. We imprison our own children and poor for possession of small qualities of the very stuff that the smugglers are bringing in and making huge profits from, yet are not penalized at all for, except for certain 'import taxes'.
Because of very strict DWI laws a friend was put through the system on that charge. He was just 16. Part of the process involved a visit to traffic court. What used to be a small city court which worked with a reasonable amount of efficiency was now taken up from when if first opened till about 3 pm with illegal mexican's having been caught driving without any kind of license or insurance, there were about 30 of them on this day. All of them were given the curtsey of a court translator, state paid legal representation and all got off with a $100.00 fine and were released. Meanwhile this kid who had his license and insurance, had a disputably legal or illegal toxicity of alcohol, was fined at least $1000.00, was made to attended classes twice a week for 3 hours each night, for 6 weeks, no matter how it interfered with college classes and work, and had his license removed for that time so that rides to this mandatory class were a huge problem, not to mention the rest of the havoc caused in his life.
I voted for Bush, he was better than kerry, but what the heck is he doing?
I neglected to mention that this whole court thing happened in Danbury Connecticut, which certainly is not a 'border state'.
