To be fair in some ways Canadian Conservatives are far more conservative than Republicans. On fiscal issues, the CP believes in NO corporate welfare – ZERO, nadda.

Yes, they have not challenged Universal Healthcare. But you have to understand that Canadians are married to this system. They are the only nation which has not introduced serious reform such as user fees, or partial pay. If Harper ran on reforming healthcare he would end up with 10% of the popular vote. Canadians are mindless sheep when it come to healthcare. We want to maintain the status quo even though it is unsustainable. We somehow think there is some phantom tax base that can be taxed to keep the system afloat. That tax base leave Canada for more tax friendly harbours every year.

Yes, I agree. I believe it's a case of getting rid of the liberals first. Then, we can look at other issues like healthcare.
