One of the independents is a conservative from British Columbia. The Bloc is enraged and the Conservatives are upset with the NDP's Comrade Layton going behind their backs to craft a deal with the Liberals to take out tax cuts and pour the money into social programs. My guess is if the Bloc votes non and the Conservatives vote "no" and the conservative independent votes with them, the Government will fall and Canada is headed once again to the polls, possibly as soon as June.

I think it will happen this time.

After all, you good folks got rid of Clinton. There must be hope for us. ;-)

For example, the Canuck Conservative party platform explicitly supports socialized medicine!

In this regard, there is presently no other choice for any credible political party in Canada right now.

......But who will scrutinize the government? We all know how well they regulate themselves. We will end up with a 100 billion dollar daycare program when its all said and done.

Good list, but you forgot one.....

Those unionized day cares will be staffed by social workers trained by socialist Canadian Universities.

Aaahhhhh! Save the children, now, while we still can!

"In this regard, there is presently no other choice for any credible political party in Canada right now."

I'll go one step further. I don't think there is ANY credible political party in Canada right now!

I can't even remember as far back as the last time they had one.

No - he was president twice, which is the most he could serve.

We didn't "get rid of him" like you can in a parliamentary system.

By the way, where do I send the beer and nachos I will owe you if this actually happens?

To Ottawa, of all places!

Don't send it though, bring it and we will celebrate together!

One of the independents is a conservative from British Columbia.

I think you're talking about Chuck Cadman (sp), former conservative party member? He hasn't said how he'll vote, but some say he is principled.

The other two are David Kilgour (quit the libs last week to sit as an independent), and Carolyn ("stomp on the Bush doll") Parrish.

Kilgour won't say what he'll do, and the Parrish will support the Gov. that threw her out.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While reviewing this post, (spell check, etc.), it occurred to me that the future of my country depends on the judgment of these three people.
OMG! Sob.
You had the passion and organization to elect George W. Bush twice!
I wish you guys luck! Dump the libs!
Thanks for the good wishes DM1. We will work our butts off to do just that! :-)
"I think you're talking about Chuck Cadman ... hasn't said how he'll vote ..."
Constituents have convinced him to oppose Liberals, Cadman says
Peter O'Neil
CanWest News Service
Tuesday, April 26, 2005
B.C. Independent MP Chuck Cadman possibly driving the final stake in Paul Martin's government, said yesterday he now plans to help the Conservatives and the Bloc Quebecois defeat the Liberals in a confidence vote expected next month. Mr. Cadman, who last week said he would support the Liberals, said personal conversations and about two dozen calls and e-mails to his office convinced him the public wants the Liberals booted out. "I've been hearing from constituents ... and they prefer I support a non-confidence vote," said the MP for Surrey North. "As I've said to everybody, on an issue like this, I have to go with my constituents rather than my own personal views on these things."
Great. We will have a whole new generation of Post Modern learned children.
It is so clear that the Liberals believe the government can raise our children better than their parents. It is also clear they hold victims rights in high contempt and do not believe in the retribution component of the Justice System.
The Libs are bad but the NDP are just drippingly disgusting. They use the horrid tactic of demonizing George Bush to attack their opponents. I love how Harper called it the "deal with the devil" That's great!
A bit unrelated, but what sort of democracy is this set up in Iraq? Parliamentary and Republican democracies are winner take all. The winner forms the cabinet. But it sounds like all parties will participate in forming the cabinet in Iraq?
The provincial Liberals in BC are the party of the right. Their website says upfront that they are not affiliated with the federal Liberals.
The NDP are the socialists.
The Liberals will win the BC election.
Oh yes, I know. I have the BC Liberal election sign on my front lawn! God knows BC voters cannot be stupid enough to put the NDP back into power. At any rate the Greens will split the leftist vote. Finally. The right has had its vote split for so long (Reform party killed George Bush Senior's re-election / Liberals were kept in power by a right party split)
