Sorry to hear that. I did notice lately he seemed to be having problems hearing people.

Rush's hearing loss is his own fault - it's a common side effect of prolonged use of high-dose opiates like Oxycontin and Percoset.

Nobody should be happy about his problems, but they are 100% his own damn fault.

That said, cochlear implant technology seems to be pretty neat stuff.

you mean besides the fact that hes been deaf for a few years now?

It sounds like he's using a transcriber for some help during the show. What that is like is having a captioning machine available to read as people talk.

He also seems to have occasional trouble pronouncing certain words correctly.
