The only real differences between the Nazis and their modern day ideological twins the Islamo-fascists are ones of style, hygiene, and efficiency--but not intent.
The Nazis murdered, in cold-blood, at least six million Jews*; the Islamo-fascists are passionately dedicated to killing the rest.
George Orwell's "1984" was published in 1948, the same year as the birth of the modern state of Israel. Rarely in history has the initial offering of a great literary work and the founding of a great nation been so congruous, and on so many fronts.
Israel was, is, and has been treated with "Orwellian" double-standards, by and large, by the rest of the world since Day One. And that double-standard continues with ever-flaring intensity to this very moment.
To the latter's eternal credit, and most of the rest of the world's considered, continuing historical shame, the Jews have continued to survive in that redoubt despite ongoing efforts by various & sundry forces to drive them--man, woman, & child--into the sea, as an Epilogue to the "Final Solution."
Efforts that continue, with various Orwellian nuances from world "statesmen" and overt murderous actions conducted by scummy terrorist cowards, to this very day. And I haven't even mentioned the five wars, all of which defeat in wouldn't have merely meant some humiliating treaty signed somewhere over canapes and wine, but survival as a people.
*The records from the former Soviet Union that have become available since the end of the Cold War tend to indicate that the actual number of those murdered in the genocidal obscenity known as The Holocaust is probably higher.
