At 50 cents a gallon increase in price What's your time reference for this price increase? The start of the Bush Presidency?

My time reference is 1 year ago. The avg gas price in my state, NC, is 47 cents higher today than it was one year ago on this date.
What time frame do you suggest using?

On the 50 cents per gallon issue, it has risen 50 cents on average nationwife since January. Me? I simply stopped driving so much. I am a disabled vet so I either take a bus where I need to go or walk. I fill up my tank once a month and that's it.
