Alfred Gagliano warms us up to the upcoming Liberal Party campaign: "Keep us in power or Canada will really be sorry." After ripping off the Canadian taxpayer, its more of the same-old, same-old. The Liberals really have no shame. They have contempt not just for the Quebecois but for the intelligence of English Canadians too. "Hey, we mugged you, but it was to help keep the country together. The last Quebec secession election was lost by only 0.5% of the vote. Freaking scary close. Won't take much to push 0.5% to the other side.

My brother-in-law was surprised at all the expression of US patriotism "south of the border" (theirs, not ours). In Quebec, the secession issue is so close and heated people don't show much patriotism publicly (few people flying Canadian flags, etc.), lest some wound-up opponent cause trouble over it.
