YOU are turning into a monster if you support persecution of people based solely on their religion.
Please confine your accusations of persecution to the appropriate comments.
Should you run across a "Nuke Mecca' or "Kill 'em all" post I suggest you advise the Mods and let them pronounce judgement.
You joined in February 2005. For a newbie, you sure know how to throw your weight around and not much else. Manners!
I was just talking to someone today about God's Divine memory wipe of past wrongs when it comes to reconciliation....
I have no idea what you're talking about, dude.
Apology/retraction/clarification/act of contrition accepted.
To confirm, indeed I do not support such haphazard vigilanteism, indiscriminate mayhem, nor rape and murder of innocents who happen to be in the crossfire, etc...
Now for something completely different...(Monty Python reference)
Just what? I leave it to the esteemed "backbenchers" to decide and advocate
A.A.C.
{examining the 'Holy Hand Grenade', and trying to remember how to count to "three, proceeding not unto four...")
Could this be the "Return of the Geek"?
"Could this be the "Return of the Geek"?"
If this is the 'geek'...
I want to see the "Return of Broadsword"!
Do not impute statments to me that I have not expressed.
The countries run by Islamic theocracies have the worst record for religious tolerance (or human rights for that matter) on the planet; in view of this I find your pious statements about religious persecution a little ironic.
I would like to see the islamic peoples abandon the ancient and more barbaric precepts of their religion that have no place in a civilized world. I would rejoice if they would throw aside theocratic rule and embrace democracy, complete with representative elections. I do and will continue to condemn the silence from the islamic world over the atrocities committed in the name of Islam. This, however, is a far cry from calling for the slaughter of muslims.
Your last sentence to me was rude and uncalled for. Since you are fairly new, I would accept an apology.
"Kreteks are Indonesian cigarettes made with a complex blend of tobacco, cloves and a flavoring 'sauce.' They are often called clove cigarettes. It is believed that the name kretek comes from the crackling sound the cloves make when they are burned.
Kreteks were originally created by Haji Jamahri in the early 1880's for medicinal purposes as a way to deliver the eugenol in the cloves to the lungs, as it was thought to help asthma. It cured his chest pains and he started to market his invention to the village, but he died before he could mass market it. M. Nitisemito took his place and began to commercialize these new cigarettes. Today kretek manufacturers employ over 180,000 people in Indonesia and account for 95% of the world's clove market. In the U.S. cloves are popular with social smokers, artists and the goth and punk subcultures. Djarum Blacks, a black paper kretek, are often linked with the goth image, leading to the infamous saying, "I'm so goth even my cigarettes are black."
I ask my fellow FReepers to please lift up al-Libbi,
that he will provide many juicy details about his operation and his buddies, and will receive a conviction and punishment that is as close to fitting as is possible.
Congratulations to the Pakistani forces. I guess they don't like assassination plots against their leader--nor the continued implications that they aren't helping the search for OBL enough.
In the picture released, this scumbag reminds me of a character from a Twilight Zone episode with odd makeup...
Shall we call this snip 'Papuan Border Secrets'? For truly, where islam is, people die in the hundreds of thousands.

"Then on the night of 20 December 1961, Indonesia sent in paratroopers. Papua was conquered and annexed. In 1969 Indonesia held a rigged plebiscite in Papua. Indonesian authorities hand-picked 1,025 Papuans, who then voted unanimously, under duress, for integration with Indonesia. The Indonesians and the UN call this 'The Act of Free Choice', but the Papuans call it 'The Act of No Choice'.
Since that day, Papua has had a history of violent oppression by the Indonesian military (TNI), with demographic dilution through a government programme of massive transmigration of Javanese Muslims. Papuans are politically marginalised, racial tension and religious intolerance have flourished, and Islamic Indonesian culture dominates. Of utmost concern is systematic 'ethnic cleansing' by military operations, and the (possibly deliberate) introduction of AIDS and infected pigs. (Melanesian Papuans eat pigs but Indonesian Muslims do not.) Officially, some 100,000 Papuans have been killed directly due to Indonesian occupation, but the unofficial figure is 800,000.
The Indonesians do all this for economic gain. They want Papua so they can exploit its timber and mineral resources. The notorious and systemically corrupt TNI also profits from 'business' in Papua. Meanwhile the UN and various Western governments turn a blind eye for political gain. They want Indonesia as an ally..."
Interesting...don't know how "kretek" sounds like crackling of burning cloves, though... It reminds me of my satirical analysis of Randall Jarrell's Death of the Ball Turret Gunner, where I wrote that the first letters of each line spelled "FASIW", which represented the sounds of the cannons on the fighter planes attacking the bomber...and some people (including the teacher) bought it!
Djarum Blacks, a black paper kretek, are often linked with the goth image, leading to the infamous saying, "I'm so goth even my cigarettes are black."
Oh, I thought the saying was: "I'm so goth even my lungs are black." That's what my friends used to say.

Hope you're not offended at the comments on your handle, Kretek.
Not just restricted to West Papua...Papua New Guinea's Islamic population is growing, too.
I had a friend who was there during WWII (originally at Port Moresby, but spent much of the war out "with the people"--I imagine he was also an observer to watch for Japanese attacks coming from Rabaul or over the ridge). He said the people were some of the nicest he met throughout his time in the Pacific...and his photos sure showed the beauty of it, even if they were black and white.
"The smell of kreteks, named for the crackling sound they make as they burn, permeates buildings, trains, buses and restaurants, and it defines sensory, at least olfactory, perceptions of the country as a whole."

More facts, less B.S.
Oh yes..a "need" for "drastic" action. Give me a break...more CDC nonsense (or bad reporting), while the CDC hide the fact that half of sexually active American women are infected with HPV, which results in thousands of cervical cancer deaths each year--and they refuse to publicize that condoms don't prevent HPV transmission (though they admit it on their website, at least).
Maybe it would be nice to publicize the extra risks from kreteks, but to ban them...sheesh.
So...is it good news that Indonesians are smoking so much? If 45 percent are under 20, does that mean lots are quitting as they age?
Nice try.
huh?
Just came across this site... does anyone know of this group, or how big their march is expected to be?
