And while loads of time and money were wasted on an ill-behaved, misbegotten, screaming, dripping little annoyance, the business of teaching the worthwhile students went by the wayside.

I wonder if we could possibly get them to leave the country, instead of just the state? Probably not...no other place would tolerate the nonsense we do.

[[The mother of the 5-year-old girl who was handcuffed at school by police has withdrawn her daughter from Pinellas public schools and is moving out of state, superintendent Clayton Wilcox said Monday night.]]

No geographic cure will work for this out of control kid and her out of control mother. The same thing will happen in some other school in some other state. The mother and her victimhood mentality are the root cause of the problem.

Sheesh. The nexus of bad parenting, the school system and an attorney. It makes it difficult for me to find anyone to root for.

The kid was out of control and for the safety of the other children and adults, she needed to be restrained. I suggest that the mother is probably a welfare mother, with not interest in the little life she carelessly brought into the world. This kid is her monthly meal ticket. I feel sorry for the kid actually, she hasn't got a chance in the world, unless some good disipline is used and very effectively!

I needed to correct a few things.......................

"........prospect that the Rev. Al Sharpton would be coming to town. The famous infamous New York crusader race-baiting huckster who's views are given credence by the hyperventilating MSM and one-time presidential candidate who is under investigation for abuse of Federal election laws but will probably be let off because to NOT do so would be Racial Discrimination is intrigued and considering weighing in on the episode, his staff posse said......"

Check on back on the "mutant" child in 10 years. She'll be smoking crack, have an arrest record a mile long, and headed for the gurney and needle! None of my five daughters ever behaved that way, nor did I or my brothers. If they had, they would have needed a skin transplant where they sat down!

There is so much that is wrong with this thing. I was prepared to be entirely on the side of the teachers, but I watched both videos and I'm ambivalent. I was unimpressed with the tantrum -- at least, it didn't escalate to anything I would consider a tantrum until some time had passed. And, frankly, if that cow had said, "that is not appropriate" in that school-marmy voice one more time, I was going to deck her.

On the other hand, the teachers weren't allowed to touch the child, and she did ultimately start swinging and climbing on things. I don't know what they could have done but call the police, and I don't know what the police could have done but bind her. She was going to hurt herself, if nothing else.

And I'm suspicious of the mother's mothering, too, but she distinctly said she couldn't come until 3:15 because she didn't get off work until 3:00, and that washes with me. And, as I said up front, I was unimpressed with the child's tantrum until she was an hour or so in to it. Seemed like pretty ordinary sulky five-year-old behavior to me.

On the whole, I think I'm going to save my outrage for something else.

That little girl is larger than the average 5-yr-old, and was climbing on the table taking swings at the teacher.

Maybe the teacher ought to sue the child for assault. Hey, she's got as much a case as the mother does against the school.

If you can sue a kid for downloading a song from the Internet, why not?

I didn't watch the whole video, but I can say that the teacher is lying when she says that the video was made to help her improve her teaching methods. This video was made to document the child's behavior and the teacher's position that the child did not belong in a regular classroom. The child has a problem.

Is it just me or should Child Services be sending an investigative team to check out this mother?

Also on Monday came the prospect that the Rev. Al Sharpton would be coming to town. The famous New York crusader and one-time presidential candidate is intrigued and considering weighing in on the episode, his staff said.

Two words: Tawana Brawley.

At the very end of the police portion of the video (that you don't hear on TV) ... the officer questioned the girl if she remembered him and that he is the one that her mom told to put hand-cuffs on her. Sounds like MOM told the officer to do it. Not excusing the officer, but sounds like a fear tactic the mom was using to get the girl to behave.

A current affair got the mother's lawyer fired because he released the video ?

IOW the show was not concerned about reality, the show was going to show just the selct clips to edit the teacher in the worst possible light instead of the full showing that was actually shown.

This is the program the produced Bill O'Reily.
