Here's the problems with the Democrat party: They are the opposition party, but that does not mean they should vote against common sense.

I didn't see the word "splintering" here. Must be only the GOP that splinters.

The "moderates" probably want to avoid sitting next to Daschle at the homeless shelter.

Of course the Rat party has a grand idea:
One nation, under Marxism, with socialism and slavery for all.

I was going to write something about the RATS eating their own. But after Voinovich's traitorous act last week I'll have to rethink this.

Can we expect to see the MSM report on this anytime soon?
I'm thinking NO!

"another Democratic source countered: "We aren't going to win by being Republican lite. If we're going to be the opposition party, let's be an opposition party." .
Wasn't that Dean that said this?

"There is a feeling that there is nothing to unite this party right now," said another senior Democratic staffer of the Caucus' failure to take strong, detailed positions on issues. "There is Social Security, and we're doing a good job on that, but that's it. There are no grand ideas or principles for the party. ...Ahem. What are you 'doing a good job on' regarding Social Security other than denigrating even the thought that the program is in trouble? What single productive idea has your party brought to the table? No. You have no 'grand ideas or principles' at all, not even on SS.

MEMO TO: Bill Frist & all the wobbly weak kneed Republicans in the Senate
This is what you get when you act like a majority party. My suggestion to you and the rest of the 'majority leadership' is to ask, beg plead with Speaker Hassert and Majority Leader Tom DeLay to give you leadership lessons and maybe he;p you folks grow some huevos.
