Now there's a dumb move on this church's part. Oh, well...

Are they going deny feeding the needy who happen to be Catholic also?

Idiots. People who preach about the God's word but never read it.

Rev. Conrad Hoover of St. Ann Catholic Church

Aren't Catholic priests generally refered to as "Father", as in Father Flannigan (of Boys Town fame)?

" To do this best, we feel we should abstain from any ministry that partners with or promotes Catholicism, or for that matter, any other denomination promoting a works-based salvation." "

Yeah, it's much easier sitting on one's pious ass claiming to be 'Saved' whilst doing nothing to help your fellow man and actively dis-engaging from those people who do actually 'walk the walk'.

Jesus weeps.

Go here http://www.loavesandfishes.org/donate.htm if you think it's more important to feed hungry people than to stifle the Papist heresy.

Is this a Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee, or a Church of God, Anderson, Indiana? Understandable if it's Indiana because they think that Rome is Babylon the Great in Revelation, and are really suspicious of Catholics for that reason. Don't know if the Cleveland group thinks that way too or not. Just how big is this big Church of God? You don't usually hear of big ones, at least west of the Mississippi you don't.

Interestingly enough, it appears that this 6000-member church doesn't even have a web site. I guess the internet is the work of Satan or something.

I also guess this "minister" has neglected to read the book of "James", too. Ah, well...

Burton told him the church could no longer support the agency after it allowed three Muslim students from UNC Charlotte to help serve a meal at the uptown ministry in November.

Apparently in Burton's edition of the Bible, Jesus goes around preventing sinners from doing anything good. If I was God, I'd have a special edition of heaven waiting for this loser and his followers -- where there's no food, except that served by a crew of Catholics and Muslims (and MAJOR hunger pangs).

I do not believe the issue is a matter of anyone "paying homage" to anyone else, or to any other "Church". The joint effort is not a "missionary" effort to "spread their version of the truth through ministry". As individuals and as contributing churches the joint effort of helping the poor is a mutual expression that comes, individually, from the persons and from each church, as an expression of something they feel called to do - helping the poor. It is not an effort that makes any attempt to say "I endorse you" or "you must endorse me". It is a mutual effort that endorses something they each feel called, in their own way, to do.

I believe the one church's negative response comes from a misplaced sense of fear; which they should not have if they believe God is walking with them.

Luke 10

29 But he, willing to ajustify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my bneighbour?

30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and awounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.

33 But a certain aSamaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had bcompassion on him,

34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took acare of him.

35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the ahost, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

I don't think Jesus is going to ask if someone is Catholic, Evangelical, Muslim, or Hindu. He asks us to have compassion for every needy person. I think it's stupid for this church to deny its resources to the needy just because fellow donaters have different beliefs. But if that's what they want to do, they have that right.

If these misguided people want to really make a statement, they would end all co-operation with anything attached to the World Council Of Churches ... that Whore Babylon.

Sounds like they need more money to put into promoting homosexuality, gay marriages, removing drug laws, promoting anti-semitism, etc. The usual stuff the liberal-left churches do.

When Jesus told us to feed the poor, I don't recall him making exceptions for Catholic assistance.

It is a fact that 75-80% of charities that benefit the poor are physically worked by Catholics. Other Christian denominations give money, but do little of the work. This church has made a very unwise decision.

What I would like to know is why this organization (Loaves and Fishes) felt the need to send out a huge press release for a drop in donations of an average of $3,273/annually or about .1% of its budget?

My church actually would do the same thing (drop donations) if that organization supported and preached non-biblical viewpoints.
