Byrd playing the "religion" card, saying he understands the frustrations of the religious right.
I wonder why Schumer and Byrd think they are able to hold public office at the same time that they avow that their "primary duty" is to God,* ; but, Schumer thinks others are incapable of doing the same.
Note:
*Freemasonry Supports Religion. Freemasonry is far from indifferent toward religion. Without interfering in religious practice, it expects each member to follow his own faith and to place his Duty to God above all other duties. Its moral teachings are acceptable to all religions.

Sometime after talking about his friends Caesar and Pluto, he spoke about the 1937 filibuster.

those of us who have been tuned in continuously are focused on his red lipstick. Otherwise, we would be asleep. On second thought, maybe his whole face is beet red, but he is wearing heavy pancake makeup, everywhere but on his lips.
I remember wondering if Clinton had heart problems or high blood pressure back when his face looked so red.
Byrd referring to "overheated pressure cooker." Suggesting that Senate should give president a list of appropriate justices to choose from.
"Bi-partisan nod."
"I pray."

Byrd wants the senate to have veto power before as well as after the President nominates. Can anyone spell power grab"?
To: syriacus
Byrd quoting, of all people, Aaron Burr.
