I have a home in Lake Arrowhead, CA, there are coyotes, mountain lions, bears and other animals in the area. One of the main problems is that people leave food for these animals because they think they're "cute".

Our bear problem (live in the mountains near Yellowstone Park) has been getting worse the past few years. You can't leave any trash outside, have to scrub the BBQ beyond clean, and they still come around as they have learned that humans = food source. I remember one time in the Park when a tourist put jelly on her kid's head so she could take a picture of the bear licking her son's head. Of course, the bear didn't lick...he bit.
