The presence of a dog and a food source, a freshly killed moose found nearby, made the bear more aggressive, said Bruce Bartley, a spokesman for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.

"There's just hardly any other factors that could make it worse," Bartley said.

I'm the same way when I smell bbq chicken on the grill. Just incorrigable.

He should have been packing a .454 Casull. Or a Barrett .50 in his backpack.

Tip. When jogging or walking in bear country carry a 12 gauge with a load of 00 buckshot in front of several slugs.

I checked your home page. Re Sigs. I have a P232 for carry and am looking at the new P226R DAK in 9mm for home use. What do you think?

I have a home in Lake Arrowhead, CA, there are coyotes, mountain lions, bears and other animals in the area. One of the main problems is that people leave food for these animals because they think they're "cute".

Too bad he lived and the bear didn't eat him.

Once again he failed to become "one with the bear"

Perseverance.
