I would say opposites attract, but I am sure the Bush haters would flame me by saying there isnt much of a difference....

"They're trying to move Hillary to the center for 2008, and this helps de-demonize her and her husband," a longtime Bush confidant said.

I think this is a Clinton image re-hab project probably arranged by Hillary's media minions.

It really isn't all that surprising. Bush One is a nice fellow who doesn't seem to really believe in anything. Clinton is the kind of guy you meet in a bar, have a great time talking to and NEVER take home to meet your wife. They can get along because they don't really care.

Good Ol'Willy is such a chameleon (Reptile) that he tells Pappa Bush whatever lies he needs to ingratiate himself.
The same technique he has used his entire career...whatever it takes to be loved by you...

It's friendship, friendship,
Just a perfect blendship,
When other friendships are up the crick,
Ours will still be slick!

Wonder what will happen to this friendship when Bill starts campaigning for Hillary.
Think the elder Bush will take it in stride as par for the course?
Don't think so.

When did this friendship occur?

After W's second election victory, right?

Any idea why this friendship didn't occur before early November 2004?

'Jeb Bush now refers to the Democrat who ended his father's political career as "Bro." "

Bro = short for brothel

They probably have a lot in common. How many folks have been president and have dealt with all that entails. Probably pretty lonely at the top.

Clinton is probably fun to hang out with. I don't agree with him, but I also don't think he is the creator of all evil in the world.

As usual most of you can't see the master plan here.
Now there may be reasons that Clinton really likes being with Bush 41, he may look at him as a Father figure since he really did not have one. Who knows it may be a positive influence on his life after two heart surgeries.
The other side of this is that Bush 43 sees how to handle Clinton, shower him with kindness, appoint him to do a few things that appeal to his ego, keep him somewhat in the loop and take him him to Pope John Paul's funeral, etc..
The result is that Clinton has not been critical of Bush and because of his inclusion in things probably would not want to jeopardize all of that. W. has Clinton right where he wants him and in the process may have helped him some.
At this point I just can't too upset with what Clinton does or does not do and after all we have moved on haven't we, we are now in Bush's second term and we more important things to worry about.

I must say, this is truly puzzling. Either Bill Clinton isn't half the sociopath I thought he was and it was Hillary all along, or he's the smoothest sociopath this side of the planet Venus.

The only other explanation is that Bush the Elder is dumber than a sack full of bleached-blonde hair.

It's truly an enigma within a conundrum, as logos used to say.

Well, here's the deal. Bubba is basically a dog at heart. If you keep him fed and watered, give him snacks now and then, walk him, pat him on the back, scratch him behind the ears, rub his tummy...wait, he's got interns to do that...let him hump your leg every once in a while...wait, he's got interns to do that...and talk nice to him regularly and tell him what a good boy he is, he's happy. I figure after keeping several generations of canine family members, the Bushes know dogs. And it's a small price to pay to keep Bubba from scratching and howling at the White House gate, and trying to dig his way in.

Pops must be senile to have forgotten all the evil words and acts against the Bush family that Klintoon spewed to anyone who would listen while he occupied the WH. I'll never forget how such a disgusting human being as Willie Jeff is and was and always will be. If he can charm Bush 41, he can charm anyone. Keep in mind that the ability to charm is one of Satan's the prime attributes.

And why is this good for the country?

Bush's father has always leaned toward the left.
