The older Hollywood leftists now blacklisting Republicans were the same bunch being investigated during the 1950's & early 60's.

The key difference is that the blacklist in the 50s was by the Studios themselves. Today the leftist actors and directors who dislike working with Republicans aren't nearly as effective since those Republicans can go work with someone else in the same industry. It's a very positive thing that the old Studio system isn't around anymore as it was completely monolithic back then. These days, anyone who wants to get into the film industry can do so.
