Georgia responsible for Soviet genocide, claims Russian ambassador to Ukraine

According to former Russian Prime Minister Viktor Chernomyrdin, now Russian ambassador to Ukraine, Georgia is more to blame for the Soviet genocide against Ukrainians than Russia. Chernomyrdin told journalists, "If we speak about terror in the times of the U.S.S.R., as a result of that, the number of Russians killed was far greater than that of Ukrainians. We still cannot answer to our people for that. If anyone is to receive claims, address them to Georgia, the 'father of nations' Joseph Stalin was from that country." During the U.S.S.R.'s 1932-1933 collectivization drive, an estimated 5 million to 7 million Ukrainians in the "bread basket" of the U.S.S.R. perished during a famine deliberately instituted by Stalin.

I’m crying and laughing in the same time, when I’m reading your posts. Your historic revisionism is far over top. Sounds Soviet.

Accordign to you every Pole on this forum must be motivated by hate, whereas a Russian (or Russian supporter) is motivated by love for truth only.

"All three ukranians, bellorussians and russians are from one root- ancient Kiev Rus."

Gee :) And that's why they should be controlled by Kremlin ?

"BUT same Poland one year before (in 1938) partitioned Checkoslovakia with same Hitler's Germany."

Poland took a small part of land populated mostly by Poles, when It was obvious that Hitler is going to take over all Czechoslovakia without war, but I agree that It wasn't a very clever move.

BTW I'm shocked that you haven't yet mentioned that evil Poles attacked Moscow in 17th century :)

Soviet Union was formally created in 1922. Until then the country was called Soviet Russia - trying to get the same range of borders as Imperial Tsar's Russia.

RusIvan, jb6 - you don't have to share my view (and you probably never will) but my opinion is, that Soviet Union was just a different form of Russian empire (the most powerfull one ever - by the way).

The fact, that many Soviet leaders or military commanders were not ethinc Russian doesn't change this fact.

The British royal family has Geman roots. So what - is that supposed to mean, that it was a German Empire, not a British one????
Many commanders of British army were from India, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and so on. So what - is that supposed to mean, that those land are responsible for their actions, not Great Britain?

The same applies to Tsar's Russia. One of it's most powerful rulers was Catherine the Great - a German. Another example - many kings of Polish - Lituanian Commonwealth were foreigners (Swedish, Hungarian, French) elected by Polish and Lithuanian gentry. Is that supposed to change anything???? Don't think so.

As to Latvian Rifles - the British have Gurkhas or Irish Guards within their army , but I don't suppose any sane person would say, that Gurkha or Irish people are responsible for action of entire British Empire.
The same appplies to thousands of Poles, Latvians, Lithuanians, Ukrainians, Tajiks, Uzbeks and so on serving within Russian Tsar's Army.

I noticed that you included a link to the communist statue park in Grutas, Lithuania, without realizing that each statue has a placard in front of it that details communist crimes against humanity. Try visiting the place sometime.

"If Lenin goverment had 6 ukranians- ministers."

If Russians were conquered and ruled by minorities It only tells a lot about their intellectual abilities :)

Seriously we both know that in this part of the world It is hard to say, who belong to which nationality.
Russians love to say that a guy, who created NKVD was a "Pollack". In reality the guy had always been a Russian/Soviet citizen, ethnically he was Polish, but just as much as a few million Russians today.
I read that one of this neo-Stalinist advisers of Puti is Gleb Pavlovski - probably a "Pollack" - It is possible that in let's say 50 years we will hear that Puti was cool, only some of his advisers, who were "Poles" or "Ukrainians" were "evil".

Zaolzie (Czech Zaolsí (Zaolzi), Slezsko zaolsanske, Polish Zaolzie, Slask zaolzianski meaning Trans-Olza river) was the area disputed between Poland and Czechoslovakia West of Cieszyn with approximately 906 km² and 258,000 inhabitants.

In October 1918, following the end of First World War and the fall of Austro-Hungary, the area was divided between Poland and Czechoslovakia by two local self-government councils (Czech Narodni Vybor pro Slezsko and Polish Rada Narodowa). The majority of the area was taken over by Polish local authorities. In 1919 both councils were swallowed by the newly created and independent central governments in Prague and Warsaw. The former was not satisfied with the compromise and in 1919 started an offensive while Poland was engaged in war against Western Ukraine and bolshevik Russia. Eventually 66% of the area was then taken over by Czechoslovakia and according to the Spa conference in July 1920 the territory was officially annexed by Czechoslovakia.

In October 1938 the area was re-annexed by Poland, argumenting that Poles in Zaolzie deserves the same rights as Germans in the Munich Agreement, but on September 1, 1939 it was annexed by Germany after they invaded Poland. After 1945 the border returned to the line of 1920. On the 13 June 1958 in Warsaw both countries signed a treaty confirming the border on the line of 1 January 1938. Nowadays Zaolzie is a part of the Czech Republic and there is little tension between both countries. …

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zaolzie

As you can see - Poland had some reasons to re-annex Zaolzie.
Nevertheless - personally I think that this action was one of the most shameful pages in Polish history. Even if it was justified in any way - Poland shouldn't had done it in such a "company".

But comparing this action to Ribbentrop - Molotov pact is not fair.
Poland was not a contracting party of Munich Agreement. It just used a possibility, which emerged, when Nazi Germany were to annex Chechoslovakia. If Poland wouldn't annex Zaolzie - Germans would.
Poland's action was not a glorious one for sure (rather the other way round). Poland acted, like a neihbour taking some things from his neighbour's burning house.
But it didn't set that house in fire.

Whereas - relating to Poland - Ribbentroop - Molotov pact did.
They were like 2 neigbours saying - let's go to that bastard (of Versaille treaty - Molotov's words), let's kill him and take his property.

Do you really agree, that putting such 2 situations on a scale is fair???

So posted any evidence yet? Besides some stretched attempts that are easily blown out of the water, as most of your argument. We're still waiting, as usual.

Left to yourselves, the Ukraine switched sides between the Whites and the Communists quite often, while fighting with the Poles over the western boundries. Quite a few communists also came from Ukraine.

So why Russia is not a part of a state with capital in Kiev ?

Because Lithuania, and then through union, Poland, annexed Kiev from the Russ, along with a lot of other territories. Talk about blaming the victims.

No not all poles here are motivated by hate. There are political and national differences and views, but that happens. What there are, is a small clique within the Polish membership motivated by loyalty to a Godless EU. Ask Grzgzy or Luskaz to swear loyalty to a Free, Democratic, Independent and Sovereign Poland and watch them squirm and run.

That's about all that can be expected from servants of Saurin...er the EU. Care to show your love for a Free, Democratic, Independent and Sovereign Poland yet? Or did we spend the 30 pieces of silver already, Judas?

Judging from your posting history, you'd rather that they pledge allegiance to Moscow.

Hardly, nor have I ever stated that. A free, democratic, independent and sovereign Poland is in everyone's interests, except for the European (Soviet) Unionists and their paid lackies.
