This article seems to imply that both countries are equal sparring partners.

This is not representative of the facts.

One country has a military and one does not.

One country fears the other and one does not.

In the eyes of the PC west, deaths caused by communist and muslim countries don't count...

This statement wins the award for the sharpest thought of the day. Not bad for 9:20 in the morning.

If you are implying that Japan does not have a military, I suggest you to think otherwise. It simply refers to it as the SDF.

Japan has the second best military only to the United States.

China fears Japan, Japan does not fear China.

Sure Japan has a military. A fantastic one - that will be completely destroyed in the first few minutes by the Chinese.

If you really think that China fears Japan then you have a screw loose.

Sorry to say, Dr, Marten, but we don't seem to agree on anything do we.

I can't seem to put my finger on the reason why without asking some questions Dr. Marten. Basically one just to start.

How long have you been over here?

First of all, Japan fears the rise of China, not China itself.

Why do you think this, because China has nuclear weapons? Japan could go nuclear over night. Trust me.

If you really think that China fears Japan then you have a screw loose.

Apparently you blog name doesn't fit you. "Lao Tze" was a wise man.  It is China who fears Japan, that is why they are doing everything they can to keep Japan in a pacifist state. Anything Japan does to revise its constitution, China throws a fit about. Japan tries to gain a seat on the UN, China throws a fit.

China is scared to death of Japan. I'm guessing you really don't know that much about Japans military capabilities. Basically, they possess everything the US has in its arsenal with the exception of nuclear weapons (at least that we know of).

How long have you been over here?

That is basically an irrelevant question and when you say "over here", where is that? I have no idea where you "are".

Japan can build an advance military overnight and they also have the Nuclear knowhow to build those weapons also. Knowing Japanese culture, I would venture to say that they absolutely do not fear China.

If I were a betting man, and war broke out between them, I would put my money on the Japanese.

Peace

You are absolutly right about that. Japan has far more blue-water capability than China has and its Navy is only second to us.

Japan gets our best weapons and training. China's "Navy" is in such poor shape... Their best ships, the two Soveremmy ships would be the first targets and prime targets in any engagament.

If China resorts to nuclear weapons, it is all over for them thanks to our nuclear arsenal (and Japan probebly has a few of their own too for all we know). China is in a lose-lose situation.

Good find. China complaining about other people's self-congratulatory propaganda certainly reminds me of the pot calling the kettle black.

One can tell from the plotting and paranoia of the chicoms that they're fearful.

I'm impressed. (not)

You dismiss my opinions and bascially insult me as being an idiot when apparently you didn't even know what the heck you were talking about. At least, that is the imression I get since you failed to provide any reasoning behind your statements.

I can see you are quite the 'critical thinker'. /sarcasm

More like a troller.

Actually, I have been busy with other things and not had a chance to type out any kind of well thought out congnizant reply to you.

I still don't at the moment, but I will try to get to it soon.

As long as we (The U.S.) have bases and Navy in that part of the world and superior technology to the Chinese, The Japanese and Taiwanese will always have an advantage over the Chinese, if not by themselves.
