Wendy's Finger Finder Arrested
Friday, April 22, 2005
SAN FRANCISCO The woman who claimed she found a well-manicured finger in her bowl of Wendy's (search) chili last month was arrested at her home Thursday night, police said.
Police in San Jose, Calif. the site of the Wendy's in question announced the arrest of Anna Ayala in Las Vegas (search). Police spokesman Enrique Garcia (search) said authorities would not give any details until a news conference Friday.
Ayala's 18-year-old son, Guadalupe Reyes (search), said he had gone to the store around 9 p.m. when he got a phone call from a friend who was back at the house.
"We rushed back and she was already gone," Reyes said.
Reyes said he had no other details and was waiting to hear from his mother.
The arrest is the latest twist in the bizarre case about how the 11/2-inch finger tip ended up in a bowl of fast-food chili.

Don't you just hate it when that happens?
Has anyone noticed if they said which finger it was?
I think they should stop trying to cover it up and try being brazen about it. I envision a "Wendy's Finger" promotion where you get a molded plastic finger with your chili order as a souvenir. It *could* be made out of cheese, but that might be going a little bit too far for some folks.
Faked Finger Find Fraud Foiled
They threw her in the pokey (unghhh)
hmmmm...I have heard a lot of lawyers saying that in the past half hour on the cable news channels.
They are in a state of panic.
If people don't just settle...and demand accountability of the system.....
It will help cut down on bogus law suits.
They are going after her.
There was some ambulance chaser on Cavuto saying that he is worried by all this.
Basically claiming that Big Business and Big Government coming down on the little person will discourage people who have real cases...blah...blah...blah.
If folks have a real case...then they have nothing to be afraid of.
Especially now with tort reform.. thank God. That's why I've been obsessed with this case because it is a GLARING example of the out of control, litigous nature of our system in its current form.
NY Post Style:
FINGER DINGER FINGERED, PRISON LINGER
I'm no lawyer, but this sounds to me like product tampering, and I think that was made a felony after the Tylenol scare all those years back. People who pull this stuff should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Then we'd have a lot less of this expletive-deleted.
I think I read on another thread she can get 6 years and 2 months! Seems to me about 20 years not enough, but that's me.
Hopefully Wendy's will take every penny she has and will earn for the next 20 years.
I saw another post where she was a member of the ACLU in her younger days. No doubt she learned how to milk the system by filing frivolous law suits from them. Another law in dire need of being repealed, the American Taxpayer has to pay the ACLU legal fees, whether they win or lose. One of the stupidest pieces of legislation I have ever come across, thanks to Jimmy Carter I believe.
Until we change how lawsuits are paid, we are forever going to be mired in scum sucking terds. Call Roto-Rooter!
Hmmmm, worked when I refreshed my browser. Stinkin Dial-up!
Avoid alliteration. Always.
