I'm not an expert on the senate rules, but doesn't it still need cloture?
This is the issue in the senate rules that allows the democrats to filibuster if they choose.
I simply think the dems know that Frist doesn't have the votes, and are openly embarrassing him.

I simply think the dems know that Frist doesn't have the votes, and are openly embarrassing him.We'll know for sure if the Dims start pushing for an immediate vote, and/or Frist starts looking for ways to delay the vote. But I think you're right - the Bolton fiasco showed the Rats that the GOP senate "leadership" has lost control of its caucus, and they figure that one more good hard shove will bring the whole thing crashing down.

If they filibuster, they should be made to do it the old-fashioned way, non-stop speeches, making their obstructionism fully visible to the populace.
