050420-N-6694B-003 Iraq (Apr. 20, 2005) - An F/A-18C Hornet, assigned to the "Argonauts" of Strike Fighter Squadron One Four Seven (VFA-147), flies over Iraq during a combat mission prior to returning to the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is conducting operations in support of multi-national forces in Iraq and maritime security operations in the Persian Gulf. (April 16, 2005) Four F/A-18A Hornets, assigned to the U.S. Navy's Flight Demonstration Team, the "Blue Angels", perform their classic diamond formation maneuver during the 2005 Coastal Carolina Air Show in Wilmington, N.C. The Blue Angels fly the F/A-18A Hornet, performing approximately 30 maneuvers during the aerial demonstration lasting over an hour. This year's air show showcased civilian and military aircraft from the Nation's armed forces, which provided many flight demonstrations and static displays.
