THE BOLTON SCANDAL [Rich Lowry] The head of the firm, IBTCI, that was involved in the Moscow incident, when Bolton allegedly chased and threw things at Melody Townsel, has written a letter to the foreign relations committee about the controversy. Weve posted the whole thing (its roughly written), so you can judge for yourself.
Here is a key passage: To the best of my knowledge, Ms. Townsel had limited contact with Mr. Bolton, who at the time she claims was hostile to her, was working on another project for IBTCI in Moscow (Healthy Russia 2000). Ms. Townsel's recollection of what transpired, ten years later, is impossible to square with the fact Mr. Bolton was not engaged by our firm to have any contact with her on any issue related to her activities in Kyrgyzstan. In fact, later Mr. Bolton became our legal counsel to represent our interests before the U.S. Government in response to Ms. Townsel's efforts to try to grab our contract. Her claims against Mr. Bolton make no sense but are consistent with her belligerent attitudes towards others.
In fact, Ms. Townsel's professional performance is central to understanding her behavior and her extreme hostility to anyone associated with our company. As a Team Leader, she attempted unsuccessfully to charge the U.S. government for disallowable costs. She became enraged and abusive when our Business Manager, Auditor, and Executive Vice President each questioned these activities/costs, The situation was so serious that we had to post an expatriate from Head Office to our project office in Kyrgyzstan to ensure that proper accounts were maintained as we bad lost confidence in her business and billing practices.
Her poor performance, treatment of other employees and attempt to take over our contract became issues; and thus I was required to step in and remove her from her position. Mr. Bolton's role with IBTCI was unrelated. to her activities at the time. At no time did we ask, or seek Mr. Bolton's intervention with her. I certainly did .not hear, contemporaneously; from any other employee in Moscow that anything occurred between Mr. Bolton and Ms Townsel in Moscow, Consequently, it is difficult to understand how Ms. Townsel could make such accusations with any veracity.
And I'm sure Biden and all the Rats on the Committee already knew all of this.
Haahahhaa
"Ms. Townsel had limited contact with Mr. Bolton, who at the time she claims was hostile to her"
Yeah...and my mothers, sisters, best freinds former roomate, said she saw bolton get angry once and put his hands on his hip when scolding her.
Looky here....but we knew this, didn't we.
The fact she is a liberal makes her story untrustworthy. But I'll repeat again on this thread - even it WAS true - so what? So what if he had a temper tandrum like Bill Clinton often did.
I believe that as much as I believe her.
The letter was dated the 18th which was before the hearing yesterday---
Therefore, I am sure that all Rep. senators that CARED, would have had time to read that before yesterdays hearing.
I bet that the Dems had talked Voinivich into doing what he did BEFORE they went into the room, the only reason they paniced was because they thought Lugar was gonna give them two hours to lay out there lied and innuendo, at which time Voinivich would play his part...
When Lugar called a vote right away, they paniced and started blathering until idiot Voinivich realized he better say his lines, quick....
Lugar should subpoena her, have her appear and testify before the Committee -- under oath. Then, if her allegations can't be proved, she would be arrested for perjury.
No kidding. Republicans have the White House and Congress and should be blasting right along. Instead, everyone seems to have lost their backbone. I am disgusted with all of them.

Bush and the GOP leadership has been just awful for tha past 2 months. When the situation was reversed, democrats passed whatever they wanted.
I hope Bolton sues her for defamation of character.

If they can get that on the record can she be charged?
Yeah that Mister Bolton drove by my house once and yelled at me and told me to pick up my yard. He's a real meanie. Why can't the president nominate a nice feller like Richard Simmons?
How about charging her with Perjury....filing a false claim, wasting tax payers time and money etc etc etc
I prefer Jack Bauer's method...he shoots their kneecaps off....LOL
