Alice Cooper, Robin Zander and Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick, Ted Nugent, and Tommy Shaw of Styx were among the artists performing at Cooper's annual holiday benefit concert, Alice Cooper's Christmas Pudding, which took place Saturday in Phoenix. According to Blabbermouth, the band Damn Yankees - Nugent, Shaw, Jack Blades and Michael Cartellone - reunited at the show, and additional performers included country legend Glen Campbell and comedian Sinbad. The show raised funds for the Solid Rock Foundation, a nonprofit Christian organization that provides funding for organizations that help young people.

Yeah hes a Christian. He has a night radio show called nights with Alice Cooper or something like that. He plays some hair music with current stuff. Whats cool is he throws his two cents in; talking about how the business is and how he is a changed man.

I used to go to Carbondale, Illinois where Styx started their club career in 1973 and get drunk in the clubs watching them. It was legal for 18 year olds to drink in the Ilini state. I was from neighboring Indiana. More useless tibits. Styx Rocked!

Good for Rick & Robin, I always liked Cheap Trick.

I hope they wore their 'Sunday Best' for the show, however.

Styx Rocked!

As long as they kept Dennis DeYoung away from the microphone.

Last time I saw Rick Nielsen, his beard was so long, he looked like a member of ZZ Top.

I'm actually not surprised to hear this as I heard years ago that Cooper was a very good golfer and many celebrities you wouldn't normally associate with his "genre" loved to play with him.

I don't think so. This is Texas, so there is a thread of Ted's attitude running through nearly everyone here (though it may be small and deeply buried). Also, they didn't start frothing when Chuck Norris stopped by, and (other than "Walker, geriatric Ranger"), his stuff isn't exactly koffee-klatch material. Might also be interesting to see if Alice would stop by. Most of the congregation is of the age where they might have listened to his stuff when they were teens.

For Campbell, at least, I believe that is prescribed as part of the Lawrence Taylor rehab plan.

That's possible, if they were fans in the early days. I certainly was. I'm confident that if Ted sang some of his old hits it would bring the house down, if you know what I mean.

I dare not type some of the titles to his songs.

Chuck is an old hand. The older folks can relate to that. They can also relate, and support Ted's outspoken position on packin' some heat, and smilin' while killin' and eatin' game.

I'd love to hear about that church service.

Can you say "full circle"?
