Alice Cooper, others play benefit
94.7 The Zone Chicago ^ | 4/20/05 | ABC ePrep

Alice Cooper, Robin Zander and Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick, Ted Nugent, and Tommy Shaw of Styx were among the artists performing at Cooper's annual holiday benefit concert, Alice Cooper's Christmas Pudding, which took place Saturday in Phoenix. According to Blabbermouth, the band Damn Yankees - Nugent, Shaw, Jack Blades and Michael Cartellone - reunited at the show, and additional performers included country legend Glen Campbell and comedian Sinbad. The show raised funds for the Solid Rock Foundation, a nonprofit Christian organization that provides funding for organizations that help young people.

Conservative Rocker alert!!

All the good music I remember from when I was a child...and they're on the right side of the issues.

Tommy Shaw used to play in my cousin's band in Montgomery, Alabama just before he joined Styx.

Just a useless little tidbit of info.

Many people don't know that Alice Cooper is a born again Christian, and that he and Glen Campbell play 18 holes of golf almost every day.

My first "road" band was with John Tatum, guitar player for the Earwigs---Alice Cooper's band before he renamed them.

To any AZ Freepers, do you know if Alice Tatum performed at this concert

I wonder if I can get the Nuge to show up at my (large Southern Baptist) church. We've had Chuck Norris (bad at real-life appearences) and John Tesh (very articulate, much better than Norris), but the audience is kind of upscale. I'd be interested to see how Nuge and the church react to each other.

Just a useless little tidbit of info.

My cousin spent a couple of seasons as road crew for Styx.

Just more useless info...

Thats nice, but it happened 4 months ago. Alice does lots of charity work here in Phoenix, and him and his wife do a lot of work for their church and assist with their pagent each year. He also owns Cooperstown, a good bar right next to the baseball stadium, lots of memorabelia, lots of live music and such. He is a good guy.

That's a show I'd pay to see...

Saw Alice at Atlantic City, 2002, and he and his band can still ROCK.
