There are a lot of reasons the malls are dying. The new model is the updated strip mall with stores like Barnes and Noble, etc. as anchor stores. They can keep the mall rats out because there aren't large common areas to hang out in, the prices are better, and most adults don't want to wander around a mall. They can get in and out of these new style malls more quickly, going directly to the store they want.

The only time I go to a mall is when my daughter wants to go. No, I don't leave her there. She goes in and out with me.
