Theologist suggests Sept. 11 conspiracy(LW moonbat barf alert)
The Daily Cardinal ^ | 4/19/05 | Erica Pelzek

Theorists bent on exposing falsehoods in The 9/11 Commission Report maintain the attacks were a conspiracy led by the Bush administration, as UW-Madison students heard Monday at an event sponsored by the Muslim Jewish Christian Alliance for 9/11 Truth.

The event, broadcast on C-SPAN, featured Christian theologist David Griffin, Ph.D, and his interpretations of the alleged Sept. 11 conspiracy theory.

Griffin's speech addressed his own compiled evidence that suggests the attacks were not only known about by the United States government and military, but orchestrated in order to expand an "American empire" allegedly based on oil and power.

"Immediately after the attacks, the Bush administration kept referring to the attacks as an opportunity," Griffin said, specifically noting that U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld referred to the attacks as "an opportunity to re-create the world."

Griffin explores these ideas and more in his two books about a Sept. 11 conspiracy theory, "The New Pearl Harbor: Disturbing Questions About the Bush Administration and 9/11" and "The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions Compile the Evidence for Bush Administration Complicity in 9/11."

"The U.S. Military has the best radar systems in the world," Griffin said. "They boast that they don't miss anything in North American airspace."

Given that capability, according to Griffin, the notion that an American Airlines Flight 77 flew toward the Pentagon undetected for 40 minutes or more is implausible.

There is also little evidence of the Boeing 757 that supposedly crashed into the Pentagon; ensuing damage seemed to be caused by a smaller plane, probably a military fighter, according to Griffin.

Similar evidence of conspiracy lay in the ruins of the World Trade Center, Griffin said. The way the buildings collapsed suggests there were explosives placed throughout, where no foreign terrorists could possibly gain access.

"No high-rise buildings, before or after 9/11, have been known to collapse by fire," Griffin said.

The buildings fell straight down and at virtually free-fall speed, according to Griffin. All of the concrete pulverized into fine dust, an occurrence that suggests explosives and not fires aided the buildings' falls.

"I definitely endorse his theory," UW-Madison alum Ryan Ashton said, who read Griffin's first book. "His view is very conservative based on the evidence; he doesn't conclude more than he has support for."

Other audience members agreed.

"I found that his reasoning is quite consistent," UW-Madison senior Greg Jakubczak said. "He didn't exceed his boundaries."

Kerry and Clinton did it. They had 8 years to prepare.

Where are the trustees and the public officials who are supposed to be accountable for the "education" of the children with whom they are entrusted?

Does "free speech" require a public supplied megaphone to every lunatic? I don't think so.

Notice the moniker of the organization that supplied the speaker. Probably a bunch of leftists, composed of Pope hating Catholics, Israel hating Jewish persons and others who get their talking points at the local Wahabi Mosque.

Just ignore the surveillance video that shows the 757 striking the Pentagon. It's a fake anyway. < / sarcasm>

Well, if UW-Madison alum Ryan Ashton endorses it, you know it must be true.

Hey, he not only endorses it, he definitely endorses it. You can take that to the bank, buddy.

HUGE waste of time are conspiracy efforts like these.

People who believe this stuff will continue to believe it no matter how much evidence is supplied to the contrary.

People who disbelieve this stuff will continue to believe the Administration's story no matter how much evidence is supplied to the contrary.

You could show these people Pentagon videos proving terrorism over & over but they won't buy it.

You could show videos of Bush himself telling Cheney to not protect the DC airspace on 9/11 and Bush supporters simply won't buy it.

It's a total waste of time.

Having personally watched the Boeing 757 make its final dive into the Pentagon, the learned Mr. Griffin is full of sh*t. (And I am experienced enough to know the difference between a 757 and a small military jet.) If he's wrong about this detail, he is probably wrong about a great many more details that make up the scaffolding for his conspiracy theory. The book is probably nothing more that not-so-cleverly packaged excrement.

(For those who want the details: The 757 passed almost directly over my building (the Navy Annex) on its way to the Pentagon. I was looking directly out the window at the time while discussing the earlier events in NYC with a fellow worker.)

The entire explosives theory is scary laughable and could only be believed by a lunatic.

Videos and photos have clearly shown the internal damage done by the airplanes and subsequent fires to the columns and floor decks. They have demonstrated the buckling of the exterior columns prior to collapse, and videos do in fact show that the two towers failed in a very different manner due to the different impact areas of the aircraft. The north tower suffered far more damage to the internal columns at the core (1st aircraft collided perpendicular to the center of a building elevation straoght at the core), videos have shown that the interior core area of the top of the building collapsed first, before pulling down the exterior tube structure of the building. The south tower was hit towards a corner and a larger area of perimeter columns, floor decks, etc were destroyed but the core was relatively undamaged. Videos have shown the exterior columns buckled and collapsed first, actually leaving the interior core of the building standing by itself for a few seconds.

At WTC7 there is quite a bit of photographic and video evidence of the massive fires as well as impact damage from the tower collapses(One roof photo shows a damaged parapet).

Read the reports here:
Federal Building and Fire Safety Investigation of the WTC Disaster(must bookmark and read)
