The old Union of Soviet Socialist Republics invested tens of billions of dollars and millions of lives in their attempt to develop some sort of coherent leftwing policy book. They abandoned it as worse than useless after 70 years of struggle. Soros is a fool if he thinks he can do better.

Hmm, but the Soviets did have quite a bit of success in the realm of propaganda with relatively small expenditures of cash.

I greatly fear that Soros will get cooperation from some of our "allies" in Europe to influence elections here. Seeing as France was willing to create the "yellowcake" forgeries to try and stll the Iraq war effort, it isn't as if they are opposed to such actions in theory...

Despite the general recognition that progressives are several years behind conservatives, liberal activists are confident that technology will help them close the gap. “Technology may allow us to do in a few years what it took the other side 40 years,” the DNC source said.

I would guess the Goldwater campaign. What we call conservatism was devastated by the Great Depression and really didn't rise to imporatance as an ideology again until the 1964 campaign.

good luck!

to win they're going to have to convince americans, for example, that child molesters belong on the streets, that gay marriage is a good, that commuting on buses and trains is more efficient than by cars, etc.

any way you look at it, they have a losing agenda.

Yeah, you libs: Heed the command of Soros your master.

Be a patient.

Check yourselves into a clinical ward for inpatient care. You all are sick in the brain and need serious medical treatment.

The last line of the article sent shiver up my spine-

"This is bigger than that", one DNC spokesman said"

Did any of you see O'Reilly tonight? He had on a guy from the University of Chicago Law School, and he is one of the members of Soros' group that he put together at Yale to write a New Constitution of the United States---

What this guy was saying was outright socialism--Bill asked him if they believed in private property, and they guy said something like, "Yes, as long as people share the land with others"---Huh? He was weird but it totally sounds like from those who have much to those who have none, to me!!!

Soros is scary, and ole Harry Reid is imitating him with his "war room" in the Senate building with a bunch of new aides and running commercials blasting PEOPLE like Bolton for no factual reason--

George Soros told a carefully vetted gathering of 70 likeminded millionaires and billionaires last weekend that they must be patient if they want to realize long-term political and ideological yields from an expected massive investment in “startup” progressive think tanks.

Since "liberal intellectual" is oxymoronic, "progressive think tank" is a term of nonsense. What they really need is more media outlets. There ought to be a law, though, that such as Air America is anathema while driving. Too many drivers sleep away their lives as it is.

>>>Ingersoll denied that progressives are merely trying to replicate Heritage and Fox News.

Replicate? I take this as a declaration of war.

They want to enter a discrediting mud sling battle.

"Be patient..."

massive investment in “startup” progressive think tanks.

This is what "Campaign Finance Reform" gets you. Instead of people donating openly to the parties, and having the money logged, money gets donated to a myriad of no-name fronts that can be deniably independent of the party.

Great work, guys.

Soros will be the greatest gift to the Republicans in 2006 and 2008. The more power he yields over the Democrat party the better shape we are. His extreme kooky left wing liberal views will destroy the Democrat party for a very long time.
