America Needs Fatima ^ | 04-19-05 | America Needs Fatima

Fatima Home Visitation coordinator Byron Whitcraft delivered over 40,000 petition cards to the exact spot where Our Lady appeared in Fatima.

On March 20, two members of the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP), went on pilgrimage to the site of the 1917 apparitions of Our Lady in Fatima, Portugal, to deliver over 40,000 petition cards collected through the TFP’s America Needs Fatima Home Visitation Program.

America Needs Fatima began taking its supporters’ petitions to Fatima shortly after they began their Home Visitation Program (to read about the America Needs Fatima Home Visitation Program, go to: www.tfp.org/anf Since then they have hand-delivered nearly 200,000 petition cards from people across the nation.

“By taking our supporters’ petitions to the place where Our Lady appeared in Fatima, we give them the opportunity to present their problems and aspirations to the Blessed Mother in a way that many of them would never have a chance to do,” said Home Visitation Program coordinator Byron Whitcraft. “It is an excellent service that we are happy to provide.”

In this way, America Needs Fatima hopes to strengthen the link Catholic Americans have with the Virgin of Fatima, who is the Mother of God and their own mother.

I just got the card in the mail today. Boy I remember when they had the pic of Elian Gonzalez.

I am not Catholic and I am trying so hard to understand why this isn't considered idolatry, anyone care to respond (anyone well versed in Catholicism and Theology)

Not a theologian.

But here's my answer: I believe that Mary was the first Christian--I believe she is living today with God. I believe she is a friend to all Christians--I ask her to pray for me, as I would ask any Christian friend to pray for me.

I have other beliefs about Mary, the Mother of God, but this is it in a nutshell.

If you are really serious with this request. Might I suggest you try to find in a public library or elsewhere a book titled "The Two Babylons or The Papal Worship", authored by the late Rev. Alexander Hislop. Published by: Loizeaux Brothers.
It is a long read, full of knowledge known for thousands of years but often simply neglected. I'll leave it go at that.

I'm not here for target practice, I answered a question in a post from someone else.

I am quite sure that you believe you know the answer to every question you asked me, in your post, and I say, fine.

In the past, when I was younger, I used to enjoy such exchanges. Now I find them pointless.

But thank you for the offer. My sole intention in replying was to answer what I took to be a sincere question from someone genuinely curious. I have resigned from "the debating society."

I'm definitely not a theologian nor a Catholic either

Not very original, either.

"Thanks for the info, I will look into it." You are welcome.
Just thought of it. You can access the book on line at:

http://www.jesus-is-lord.com/babylons/default.htm

I certainly would not want to solicite a book that you may purchase only to find it overwhelming in the extent of details and not want to wade through it. The online will give you an idea what to expect from the book.

Hope it helps. No reponse required at this late date in the thread.
