I'm going to need to see some sort of proof of that.
Kiefer's a hard guy to read. Most of his characters are unrelentingly dark figures, and his personal life is mostly undercover, with occasional gossip items about all-night cavorting. He was dumped by Julia Roberts days before their scheduled nuptials. He's better off. She's a flake.
One of Sutherland's best pals is Denis Leary, whose standup act is like Dennis Miller on crank. Leary is not a big lefty, although he is tight with John Kerry, who is a booster of his foundation for firefighters' families.

He's often claimed that the socialist healthcare system in Canada is a great thing. That's all I need to hear.
IIRC, Kief is the grandson of a major Liberal Canadian politician.
I met his brother, John, a few years ago, when our youngest was attending classes to prepare for First Communion. John's daughter was in the same class. He was laughing about Denis's production company, The Twelve Apostles. Their mom thought it was so nice that Denis named his company after Jesus's disciples. John said he Denis named it for the leadership of the IRA, which called itself The Twelve Apostles, but they didn't tell their mom that. ;o)
