HYATTSVILLE, Md. - A nun who was ordered by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger to stop ministering to gays and lesbians called his election as pope "devastating" for those who believe the Catholic Church needs to be more tolerant on social issues such as homosexuality. advertisement Sister Jeannine Gramick said the choice of Ratzinger, who as the Vatican's guardian of doctrine silenced her and Father Robert Nugent in a 1999 order, will likely prevent the church from "moving into the 21st century and out of the Middle Ages." "devastating" for those who believe the Catholic Church needs to be more tolerant on social issues such as homosexuality YAYYYYYYYYY!! The Conclave did its duty. The Church is safe.
For a while ...

It seems that every one is missing the fact that during the blessing, Pope Benedict XVI referred to "following" the GREAT John Paul II.
I think that this is very telling and I hope leads to "Santo Subido" for the beloved John Paul "the Great".
I love this choice and the security in my Faith with which it fills me!

Well, it seems to me that there was an old senator a few years back; who lived to 100 years old, and pretty much "died with his boots on"! In other words, he no sooner retired, then he died a short time later at about 100 years old!

I am sure the old fart will continue to sit back like PJP and say nothing while hundreds of his gay priests molest little boys, yet speak out against reaching out to those who perhaps need it the most.Do you have some facts that back this "sure" opinion of yours? You must have inside knowedge of Ratzinger that others on this forum don't. Do you have some facts that back this "sure" opinion of yours?

Especially the nun I know who brought me through OCIA (ironically) 6 years ago...she is a staunch supporter of women priests priestesses, and very liberal in that regard.There. Much better.

The guy could live till he reaches 102 or more.
Christ himself could return before then.
Now there's a pleasant thought.
To: MadIvan
Blessed John XXIII was suppose to be an interim too. He enacted great change in a short time.

We on the right need to learn what the left already knows...WORDS ARE POWER.
We can't let the left own the terms of the debate.
So, we ruined the word "liberal" for them. That was a long time ago. We have to do more than just that.

As I understand the Cardinal has recently reopened the investigation into a Bishop who has been accused of sexual misconduct.
I suspect he will be dealing with it directly now that he is the pope.

Sounds like the Vatican chose well, and by listening to the MSM I was worried a Cardinal of Liberation Theology persuasion would be picked. Pope John Paul II is still here in spirit!I think it's hysterical how the NYTimes got so taken. They thought they had the "scoop" on the French cardinal. I know that was BS. It's so nice to see them totally out of the loop on every important issue of the day. Do you think the fact that they got it totally wrong will ever make the evening news? I dont think so. MSM R.I.P.
