It seems that every one is missing the fact that during the blessing, Pope Benedict XVI referred to "following" the GREAT John Paul II.

As I understand the Cardinal has recently reopened the investigation into a Bishop who has been accused of sexual misconduct.

I suspect he will be dealing with it directly now that he is the pope.

Sounds like the Vatican chose well, and by listening to the MSM I was worried a Cardinal of Liberation Theology persuasion would be picked. Pope John Paul II is still here in spirit!

I think it's hysterical how the NYTimes got so taken. They thought they had the "scoop" on the French cardinal. I know that was BS.
