I welcome this new pope. But I think your statement is a little strong. For so many converts who come to the lord, things are at their very darkest before the light comes. Europe is failing. Mental illness, depression and suicide are at all time highs.
And, many evangelical denominations have active missionaries in Europe.
All that said, in this Pope, we have an ally against the relativism and post-modernism of Europe, and the world and he may be the tool the Holy Spirit chooses to bring many Europeans to the Lord.
Yup -- got to point out. In the UK, the only churchs that are flourishing (filled to the brim each Sunday and with young people and families too, not just over 70 year olds) are the Catholic and Baptist churchs.
