OK..here's what we know..Senate is in recess for the weekly party caucus luncheons. Supposed to resume at 2:15. on C-span 2.. The Foreign Relations committee is supposed to meet at 2:45 to vote on the Bolton nomination. Lugar has refused requests for a delay. Just before the Senate recessed, Reid objected to Frist's UC request for the Froeign Relations committee to meet today. Frist withdrew his request..

Red Power: Lugar uncaps a can of Whoopass on the disloyal opposition. 10 points for elegance and style. A thing of beauty. I'm almost more shocked than the dims.

They want to have Bolton's confirmation shrouded with uncertainty and hanging questions. That's why none of this came up earlier but conveniently late.

Well, if they know they are going to lose, what is the purppose of this, other than to smear a good man?To play to their lunatic base. To be able to hold a press conference and "weep for the downfall of democracy" or some other such rot. To generate plenty of sound bites for the New York Times to pick up and use for the frothing editorial that's coming sure as sunset. Take your pick.

Biden is CRAZY. I almost feel sorry for him to make such a fool of himself. He is not saying anything of substance, its incoherent. His staffers look mortified!
Lugar is smart to let him hang himself

In perspective..we're politcal junkies here..we love this stuff..but in all truth 99.9% of the American peopel will never know or care what is siad here..this is all inside the beltay stuff...and for intenal consumption..once he's confirmed..it won't mean athing..and will bsoon be forgotton..what this will do, IMHO is convince the GOP caucus that the Dems will never play fair..the Dems are throwing this tantrum in advance of the nuclear option..
