Thinly veiled catholic threat! I know...let's have another Inquisition...all non-believers must either renounce their mistaken beliefs, or die a heretic! Good L-rd. I'm a Jew and I'm not freakin' out like you are.

Taking the name Benedict however, does NOT mean he is a Benedictine. Ratzinger will have to be a member of that order, which I think someone on here has already confirmed that he is not. Just the name does not confer any meaning itself. Benedict may well be a recognition of the Father of Western monasticism, and a saint whose very doctrine called for balance and mediation between work, study, and prayer. I think this bit of information is what goes completely over the talking heads.

You're nuts. The Inquisition was led against the Catharists.
Pick up a history book.

We need at least 10 years in order for the majority of the dangerous liberals to be beyond the Papacy. God will surely allow His servant, Benedict to hang on that long.

You should probably do some research. How many young German boys weren't in the Hitler Jugen at the time? Indeed, Benedict XVI was in minor seminary during the run-up to WWII and he was told that he would not be allowed to remain unless he joined the HJ. According to what I've read, he attended exactly ONE meeting.
He was impressed into a German flak battery toward the end of the war--he was 18 years old in 1945.
So in answer to your question, no, I have no problem with this man's youth. It was a cauldron of fire and destruction that helped make him the man he is today. May Almighty God bless him and his Papacy.

This current Benedict's father was a Nazi in his youth If you are saying Ratzinger's father was a Nazi, you are a liar.

The left didn't really expect a "progressive" Pope. They knew the best they could hope for was a do nothing against their anti God ways. They wanted someone who supports at least the status quo and they didn't get it. Good.
