GLEN GARDNER, N.J. Discovery of a bag full of rotting deer parts hidden in the ceiling above the school lunchroom forced the closing of Voorhees High School on Monday.
Officials said the school would remain closed Tuesday to allow workers to sanitize the area and health inspectors to clear the cafeteria to serve food.
``An unusual odor led to the discovery of decomposing animal parts that had been surreptitiously placed in the drop ceiling,'' Lebanon Township police Patrolman Larry Campbell said.
The bag was found about 7:30 a.m. Monday; students were dismissed at 11:55.
Police believe the bag was hidden over the weekend, Campbell said. He would not say what kind of animal the parts were from or how much was hidden.
The Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office is investigating.
Oh, dear!
I wonder which child was missing his lunch?
This wasn't JASON Voorhes School, was it? Those might not be deer parts...
The schools are trying to save money on the school lunch program again, right?
Mystery Meat?
Parts is parts.
"Discovery of a bag full of rotting deer parts hidden
.He would not say what kind of animal the parts were from or..."
UmmmmmKKKKKKay!
"Discovery of a bag full of rotting deer parts hidden in the ceiling..."
"Campbell said. He would not say what kind of animal the parts were from"
If Campbell wouldn't say what kind of animal it was, how'd they know it was deer parts? And, if the school said what kind of animal it was, why the police stonewall? Something doesn't jibe about this story.
Beat me by 39 seconds!
Your commentary is much better tho'.
Spoooooky!
I'm going to take a guess....so this is just my opinion.
This story came out yesterday and they didn't announce it was a deer until today.
I posted the story from 1010 news website. They update the articles that are already posted when new information comes out.
So, that:
"Discovery of a bag full of rotting deer parts hidden in the ceiling..."
"Campbell said. He would not say what kind of animal the parts were from"
Conflicting statement may have been an incomplete editing job when they updated this morning.
Reminds me of my ex-wife's cooking
It would've taken half a semester to find them in my old school cafeteria.
I've heard of racoons, rats, and even bats infesting school ceilings, but never deer.
Senior prank?
Or some poor kid who couldn't afford to buy lunch. It's Bush's fault!!!!
