A little reverse engineering on that so-called fusion engine would be diverting, as well.
But power is not the problem at the moment. We need a better means of propulsion.
Metals, alloys, ... ptui! -- What about the engines?

I will say the one thing that freaks me out a little about the Roswell story is that, one of the older tales from the "eyewitnesses" at Roswell, was they found metal that was like "tin foil" (insert joke here), however when you folded it up or crushed it; the metal would resume its shape with no creases and it couldn't really be scratched. Well in the last few years science has created Nano-tubulars, I believe they are called, and other nano-tech according to the reports it will created very thin sheets of metal like tin foil, which would keep its shape after use.

We've also developed "memory-metal" that has similar properties. Truth is stranger than fiction.

The truth of the matter is this...
- It is absurd to believe that we are the only intelligent form of life in the universe.
- It is absurd to neglect the effects of time, and to not realize that life could of evolved, much like we believe, billions and billions of years before our own sun existed.
- When most creatures take 10+ Million years to evolve, how can it be that we only evolved in a mere 3 Million Years?
- What did the painters during the Flemish period of art paint "Flying saucers" in the sky on their paintings.
- The truth be known, it is probably more likely that we live in a very crowded universe. Inhabited by creatures far superior to us in technology.
- And, one must realize that we are so ignorant in our understanding of the universe, that our level of technology could of well be trapped in the stone age. The only people who understand even a small percentage of our universe are quantum physists.
But that is ok with me.This Majestic issue is the mother of all mysteries. Enjoy it. Read about it. Love it, hate it. I causes you to face your own being. Most peole don't like that.

And the data gleaned from the UFO is the reason we developed cold Fusion in the early 1950s and went on to rule the world in peace and prospertity.

Why is it absurb to believe that we are the only life in the universe that is capable of space travel? It makes perfect sense to believe this. After all, we are the only life form that is capable of space travel on this planet (out of thousands and thousands of species). What is the chance that this could happen anywhere else? I'd say about zero.

What I find most interesting about these claims is that no one seems to be saying that today, there are craft(s) that are crashing into our planet. Why is that?
50 years ago, apparently there were a lot of crashes, but now they have suddenly stopped?
50 years ago these "alien beings" were advanced enough, technologically speaking, to traverse the great distances between solar systems, but couldn't build a craft that wouldn't crash?
And now they can? Does it make sense to believe that the greatest technological achievement these aliens have made in the last 50 years is the ability to do what a commercial jet liner can do?
I suppose one might answer by saying, "Well, we just don't hear about the crashes today. 50 years from now, we'll probably hear about the ones today".
*shrug* Ok!
Still begs the question above: They (the aliens) can build some kind of spaceship that can travel between solar systems, possibly galaxies, but have trouble staying aloft in a planet's atmosphere?
(Note: This doesn't mean that when I get home, I won't be turning out all the lights, cracking open a beer and reading all these documents. hehe I DO love a good conspiracy theory :-) )

This speculation is based on what?

Since Roswell was transformed from a crash story to subsequent other stories over the years, other crashes have been marginalized. Back in 1947, the release of the story was taken seriously, because the marginalization had yet to become policy.
Marginalization is now policy. Crashes are sometimes still reported, but not with the fanfare of 1947.
"50 years ago these "alien beings" were advanced enough, technologically speaking, to traverse the great distances between solar systems, but couldn't build a craft that wouldn't crash?"
Mechanical systems fail, perfection doesn't exist, and this would include high technology items such as possible UFO's. It is a fallacious trap that very high technology is infallible.
"I suppose one might answer by saying, "Well, we just don't hear about the crashes today. 50 years from now, we'll probably hear about the ones today".
Possible. After all, we enforce similar restrictions on ourselves all the time. For example, there is STILL a lot of JFK-related stuff that is flatly not available, but we have been denied access. We're supposed to get access to it in future, though. Ufological data may be plausibly embargoed in secret in this way.
"(Note: This doesn't mean that when I get home, I won't be turning out all the lights, cracking open a beer and reading all these documents. hehe I DO love a good conspiracy theory :-) )"
Heck, I even haven't done that! Good Luck!

I can find records giving the exact location of every US nuclear weapon in 1947. Secrets get old and eventually stop being secret. Can anyone really believe that this would have remained hidden under blabbermouth administrations like Carter and Clinton?
That's my problem with the whole government/ufo conspiracy bunch...given human nature, there is absolutely NO way, even under the threat of death, that a monumental discovery of this kind would remain secret for long.
I don't buy it, period.

JR does NOT like it. And would strongly prefer it be kept strictly in chat. However, he HAS SEEMED to become much more tolerant over the years when it has become evident that those interested in the topic in the MSM are not all automatically out to destroy FR.
But the naysayers are a huge pain in the kazoo and don't help constructive dialogue the least bit.
They seem to take a huge amount of glee in their clout in such matters. Their compulsive, knee-jerk naysaying (with the typical photos etc.) is one of the more predictable and dependable things on FR.

For some silly reason, supposedly they weren't engineered to counter the effects of some of our early radars.
They reportedly fixed that after Roswell.
However, supposedly the propulsion used by many/most craft of sort of
"SURFING A GRAVITY WAVE"
is precarious and requires a fair amount of skill as well as sophisticated technology. And, . . . . poopoo happens.
